Top 15 most dominant North Carolina high school football programs since 2006

20 points for state titles
10 points for state title appearances

I dont see where it says points for beating particular teams

To force a 2A team to measure up on a 4A dominated year end ranking is ridiculous. Is it because if Shelby was awarded similar points on a strictly same class and lower LIKE 4A IS ON A 4A DOMINATED RANKING, SHELBY WOULD DOMINATE THOSE RANKINGS AND BLOW ALL AWAY FOR #1. Run a comparison and see.

Let's look at it based on same class or lower like 4A gets to do.

1. Butler - 3 Championship appearances, 3 Championship wins, 24 losses to similar or lower class schools

2. Mallard Creek - 3 Championship appearances, 3 Championship wins, 32 losses to similar or lower class schools.(no 2006 data, school built in 2007)

3. Charlotte Catholic - 5 Championship appearances, 1 Championship win, 22 losses to similar or lower class schools.

4. Dudley - 4 Championship appearances, 4 Championship wins, 26 losses to similar or lower class schools.

5. Shelby - 6 Championship appearances, 5 Championship wins, 9 losses to similar or lower class schools.

Give us true factual data, not data to make 4A look good.

Lets eliminate the stupid 3rd criteria and see who truly was the most dominate football program over the last 10 years. No comparison, hands down....you can all see who has been the most dominant.

Why stop at Shelby with your analysis. What about the rest of the teams??

Oh, I forgot, only Shelby counts. Teams 6 thru 15 are irrelevant and should in no way be compared to Shelby.

One thing needs to be pointed out here. Most ranking systems automatically award 10 points in the power ratings based on classification. Example, a 4AA or 4A team will start out with 20 points higher rating than 2AA or 2A teams, resulting in a built in bias for the higher classification teams.

The larger schools will always rate higher than the smaller schools because of this built in bias. Using rankings will always mean the larger classification schools come out on top.

Hate to agree with Champ, but he has a point, even if his bias overrules any objective analysis.

Honestly...I didn't want to take the time to look the others up after proving my point that this poll does not properly rank the most dominant programs. It takes a while to go thru everyone's schedules on maxpreps and determine who they played up against. No slight to Reidsville....just didn't feel like taking the time.

Richmond nor Indy should be anywhere close to that list....smh

First off...I think of all the various HS football sites Max Preps is typically the softest but I can save time for everybody on the analysis because from the Shelby viewpoint its really pretty simple.

If the data has us #1 its well thought out. If it doesnt its flawed. Analysis over. If Shelby wins a game its against superior competition if any other teams win its because the opponent is inferior or injuries or any other factor to diminish its importance. If Shelby losses its because it was a transition year or because of a bad call or a untimely injury.

This poll says nothing and has zero to do with school size. It doesnt give any extra credit points for having 850 kids or 8500 kids. Just about titles and wins an losses. Personally I could make a argument for several schools but Shelby fans need to make a decision. If you want to argue that your the most dominant PROGRAM then stop telling people about enrollment. Go out and play and beat other highly ranked programs and the results will speak for themselves. If you want to continue to give us commentary about size , playing up and if we had more kids we would have 2 Dax's and 2 Jaylen's thats great as well but now your just a great 2a program.

Sarcasm.....that said, which team would you remove and replace with WRH

Name names

Independence.....Great from 2000-2006....but since 2006 haven't done much.....Im guessing Wallace was left off because of it being 1A....but domination is domination 5 state titles in the last 7 years

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final MaxPreps North Carolina Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.

You think WRH could beat any team in that top 25 list? Realistically?

Realistically no? I dont think Wallace could beat a Mallard Creek or a Butler......for a school their size i do believe they deserve recognition...you cant say they have not been dominant since 2006 more dominant than some of the teams listed.....might aswell break it down by classification
