Clinton is multiple on offense. They brake the tee a lot. Scouted them last year and they run lots of sets. Saw them in the gun one game and the qb was dangerous. Coach Lewis and staff are great. The way their offensive line blocks intrigues me. I've been coaching 20 years and I can't remember seeing that "is it crab blocking "? It works though. Those offensive lineman get on your kneecaps and keep you from getting to ball.
Clinton has their system. Run the ball efficiently. Play that shade 50 defense perfectly. They are very well coached. Football is football. It never changes. If you teach blocking and tackling effectively daily and you have a system and don't waiver from it just give it time I believe you can always have a chance to be successful. Clinton has always done this especially with coach Lewis. Coach Lewis is one of the all time greats in nc high school football and knows how to get it done.

I was against it at first, but now wouldn't trade it. The spread suits Shelby's skill set most years. Clinton has similar skill people imo.

I ain't complaining 5 state championships in 9 attempts 2016-13-1------ hey you're going to lose a game every now and then and it may be to a less talented team but it happens.Cosch Lewis's philosophy is sound
Appreciate the comment Sally at 7

I just appreciate great football wiz. The objective in football is to outscore the other team. The offense you run doesn't guarantee you do this. Whatever offense you run run it well. The key is being great on defense and having an offense that doesn't hurt the d. I am biased though. I like offensive lineman in 3 point stances firing off the ball. If I get 60 plays in a game I want to run it 55. Everybody is different though. Usually the team with the best players win!

Just my opinion but its nice to have other tools in the toolbox so when you come up against a team with a stout defense with 11 defenders in the box and your not moving the ball....ok lets go to our passing game loosen things up.....we dont have to throw the ball 20-30 times a game but atleast enough to keep defenses honest.......i made the trip to E town watched Mikayla Boykin pkay was not disappointed 50 points 14 rebounds 10 steals Clinton faithful if you have not seen her play check her out

Breaking things down even further think back to the West Bladen homecoming game last year...a couple series we went shotgun 3 wide and just simply ran triple option out of it....Williams fake hand off to Faison up the middle reading the defensive end pulled it out pitched to Skinner and Skinner in space took it too the house.....just simple things like that i would love to see more

When there lineman are on hands and feet with shoulder pads on dls calves or thighs is what I have seen for sure
Don't know what type of blocking some would call this.

Yes, it's crab blocking, and it is very effective. Clinton many years is not blessed with huge offensive lines like other teams, so this method of blocking really works. The biggest issue with it is that after a few plays, a smart defensive lineman will wise up and just swat you out the way. I was a 260lb right guard at Clinton and could block most def.linemen straight on, so I preferred that method. But the crab blocking worked for us back then, as it does now. DH34, yes, Mikayla has gone off so far this season lol!
