Haven't gotten a chance to talk to some of the fellas this year but I know someone that talks to coach Dove regular and he's excited as always. Losing our QB will hurt but I think the Ivey kid behind him will do well if he can handle the pressure that comes with the position. We didn't lose much up front on either side of the ball but to be honest we seemed really slow last year....big...but slow...not exactly a staple for South Columbus football and it showed when we ran into some speed. Personal opinion from the outside looking in this might be Whiteville's conference to lose this year JP is an offense guru and he has the weapons to really make things sing for them if the kids come to play. Either way I'm ready for some Friday night lights!

I think south will compete but not on the level of Whiteville. They say you can’t teach speed and Whiteville has tons. I still don’t understand why Spencer didn’t get to pass more to get ready for the playoffs. If your going to hitch your wagon to a power running game you better have a decent defense and the ability to throw with success against stronger teams. I predict 9 wins and a second round playoff exit.

Did anyone make it to the scrimmage tonight? Any thoughts on how SC looked?

I heard everyone was pretty even, except WRH they were by far the better team. I heard this from some of the ED crowd.

East Bladen never played South Columbus. South Columbus was big up front from what I saw and they still have Bellamy who can go. Didn't get a real good look at their Defense but they seemed to fly around pretty good from the little bit I saw.

Appreciate the info fellas, was working so I couldn’t make it. Wish you all successful season and as injury free as possible!

The way I saw the scrimmage Wallace had the best showing. South Columbus second. East Duplin and East Bladen probably tied after that. Ashley last.
