In the third and latest draft of realignment, Thomasville is back in the Davidson/Rowan County conference. Looks as if their appeal may have been successful with a lot of help from the other Davidson County schools. Ten team conference, which will present some challenges, but definitely better for traditional rivalries and at the gate.

Good. That previous proposal would have been a financial gate death for every sport. Ease of scheduling with 10 teams is a plus in all sports.

10 can be good, or bad depending on who else is in the conference. Shelby was initially put in a 10 team league a few years back in the first draft, without Crest, Burns or KM. One of the county rivalry games would've had to been sacrificed. (It probably would have been Burns). Thankfully that proposal didn't stand up.

And even with 9 teams, the SMAC has had to start conference play right off the bat in Spring sports.

Excellent news. South Rowan and not Thomasville? Idiocy at it's finest. T-ville still has the tradition to bring the fans out from all the county schools.

I suspect they didn't want Salisbury to be the only non-Davidson County school, and didn't know what else to do with South Rowan.

Football, Basketball and Wrestling will be competing for the conference but all the other sports will suffer greatly like tennis, softball, baseball, etc. That league is loaded with excellent baseball, softball, soccer and tennis teams.
