Not doubting that Clinton is MORE than capable of beating ED, but I too believe that putting up 45 on that defense is a stretch sir. That defense is one of, if not the best defense I have seen from Beulaville. Tough to think that the Horses will put up 45 when no one has put up more than 17 on us all season. JMO
I'll have both but first lets play this Friday nights game. Personally I think both eastern semi-final games will be tough. You can throw out past games, comparison scores, this is the 3rd round of the playoffs and everyone belongs there. Nothing absolutely nothing guaranteed !
Ninja hell don't give us 21..Lee County comes in here 12-1 have played much better competition then us. No way we can beat any team from Fayetteville area? That Westover was a fluke. West Brunswick we were just real lucky. Our kids were scared to death. They have no idea as to how in the world such a subpar 3A team would make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs. Lee County by as much as they want. No way Jacksonville can play with them.
Wallace had not had more than 21points allowed against them and we scored 35 and fumbled when trying to get 42. Not saying it's the same, just using your train of thought. Clinton has to get past NS then we can talk about next week. Good luck this week panthers.

Ninja your about a week behind bro that was the first round game. Last week was no problem whatsoever. Should have been a worst beating then they took. But naw I don't give us a chance in this one just like the other two. Nobody else thought we would win either so I say Lee county by as much as they want.
yes it is. Its about defense. The DarkHorses shut down a powerful WRH team until late in the 4th qtr when the issue was already decided and offensively hung 35 on them. That's very significant against a powerful common opponent.
It would be a pure shame if the DarkHorses/Panthers didn't match up for the eastern championship again!

Difference is, we played them early in the season. That defense has only gotten better. In a game that even Wallace fans will say they should have caught a L, the defense only allowed 10 points. I respect Clinton and the Dark horse program, but I don't see them hanging 45 on that defense. Sorry JMO
If Clinton and ED were to meet next week it would be a defensive struggle with turnovers/big penalties....field position....and big play on soecial teams determining the winner....but then again i thought the same thing against WRH.......but who knows just got to wait and see if the matchup even happens we got a tough one tomorrow night against NS......but when i hear ED faithful talking about thats the best defense they seen in beulaville ever....thats a scary thought especially after some of the great teams they have had in the past.....just got to wait in see.....good luck to all on Friday

This is the best defense we've ever had. Is that enough? Like you said, the difference would be turnovers and penalties. Which would put ED at a serious disadvantage.
We had 8 penalties and five fumbles last Friday night. That cannot continue.
Ninja go back and look at some of the teams on that 13-1 schedule? I promise you Richlands beats 8 of them.

Yeah ninja this fool on the other boards saying Lee County could beat Havelock and West Craven... this team has 8 wins against teams that were below .500 their 1st round playoff win was against 4-7 Topsail so that's a given win. I mean hey yeah respect their record but look at the competition. We have played 8 teams who made it to playoffs with 6 going to second Rd and 3 still playing. So I think will be closer then some think.
ninja my man, i have nothing but respect for Clinton, as most of their fans should know, and i know full well Clinton is more than capable of beating my Panthers, but i just dont see any team putting up 45 pts. on us in 2A. can we be beat now? of course we can. but for you to suggest that we would give up more points to Clinton than Northside is ludicrous imo. Northside's defense is solid, but definitely not on the level of my Panthers. but thats just my opinion.

that WRH vs ED game was very early in the season. as you know we lost 17-7. BUT, i assure you we are a better team than WRH. one of their TD's was a pick six at our end of the field. we were in the redzone at least 4 times and came away with zero points. one time we ran it all the way down the field and fumbled on the 4 yd line, only for WRH to recover. WRH is a quality team, but turnovers and penalties cost us that game imo. thats not an excuse but just the way i genuinely feel it went down. also both teams were extremely flat and playing with very little emotion that "day". no intensity whatsoever. of course some people may disagree but thats just my opinion. we really are a much more intense, and better team now than we were then. i really like where we are mentally right now. im not sure we have the best defense we have ever had, but i will say it is "arguably" the best. one thing about our defense that certainly is the best it has ever been, judging by the eye test, is our team speed. we swarm to the ball quick, fast, and in a hurry. good luck to the Horses tomorrow night.

for the record i think Clinton may very well be the best 2A team in the East. still, i think we have a very good team. if, and thats a big IF, Clinton and ED both win this week, it should be a good matchup next week.

Hey that's what everyone said about these 12-1 Yellow Jackets! Ninja don't let the score fool you we gave them 14 of those points a block punt which they recovered at the 10 yard line and a interception they return to like the 3 oh and one busted play guy all by himself on a pass nobody 20 yards to him. So that's 21 they claimed we could not run the ball on them.. told them that they have not seen speed and backs like they saw tonight.it showed. Lord knows how many rushing yards we had plus we threw the ball tonight also!
