For the third time this season, the Weather played havoc with the schedules of the Western 1A teams...This time every conference in the West was affected for the first time this season as games were played last Thursday and Friday with more postponed games scheduled for today(Monday)....

YVC-9

YVC and Montgomery County foes East and West got a jump on the predicted forecast last week as both teams played last Thursday...East Montgomery(6-1 & 4-0) remained atop the YVC standings with a 40-8 victory over South Stanly(1-5 & 1-2)...Meanwhile, West Montgomery(6-0 & 3-0) remained unbeaten and a game back of the Eagles with a 70-0 shutout of Union Academy(1-6 & 1-3)....On monday in Bear Creek, North Stanly(5-1 & 3-0) moved into a tie for 2nd with a 48-0 shutout of Chaham Central(0-7 & 0-4)....Meanwhile, North Moore's(2-3 & 1-2) game in Robbins against South Davidson(0-6 & 0-3) has been rescheduled for Tuesday Nov 3rd...Albemarle(2-4 & 2-1) was OPEN last week....

Two SMC games to be played in Cherokee County on friday, were moved to monday..... In a battle between the last 2 state 1A champions, Robbinsville(4-2 & 2-0) jumped out to the early 16-0 lead before Murphy(5-2 & 1-1) rallied to trail at the half by 2pts(16-14)...In the 2nd half, Robbinsville's defense stopped Murphy 3 times inside the Redzone, including the final Bulldog drive in the last minute as the Black Knights rose to the top of the SMC with a hard fought 30-22 victory over Murphy...Meanwhile in Andrews, Rosman(5-1 & 2-0) broke away from a scoreless halftime deadlock to record their 2nd shutout(21-0) of the season, and move into a tie with Robbinsville for first place in the SMC as the Tigers beat Andrews(3-4 & 0-2) on the road...Cherokee was OPEN last friday night, but their field was still being used as 2A Franklin beat 3A Pisgah on the Reservation in a WNCAC game that was moved from Franklin, due to poor field conditions....Franklin won that game 21-7 with a 100yd INT return for a TD, being the crucial play in determining the outcome...

The East is becoming the Beast of 1AA Football as for the 2nd time this season #1 has fallen, and both times it's happened in the East....This time Rosewood pulled the trick at home as the Eagles got a 40yd FG in the final seconds to stun previously unbeaten and top-ranked James Kenan...The Tigers had beaten the other Eastern #1(Wallace Rose-Hill) earlier in the season...With Tarboro, East Carteret and now Rosewood, the East is definitely going to be a Beast come playoff time....

Here's a look at what going on in the East:

Rosewood's(5-2 & 2-0) big win(37-35) over James Kenan(5-1 & 1-1) didn't just send shockwaves around the state, but also the Carolina Conference, as well....The Eagles have the title in their sights, but they will have to prove that they are worthy this friday when they travel to face Lakewood(5-2 & 2-0)...The Leopards won a tough battle(21-14) with North Duplin(2-4 & 0-1) last Thursday to climb into a tie with the Eagles for first place....James Kenan will host North Duplin this friday, while Hobbton(3-4 & 1-1) who blasted(33-8) Spring Creek(2-5 & 0-2) on monday, will try to make it two in a row at winless Princeton(0-5 & 0-1) this friday....

CPC-6
-----------
As it turned out, there was only 1 member of the Coastal Plains that played a game last week, and it was Northside-PT(2-4 & 0-0) who lost at 2A North Pitt(2-4) by a 22-13 score...Southside's(5-0 & 0-0) non-conference clash with South Creek was cancelled....Conference action begins this friday as East Carteret(4-2 & 0-0) will host Pamlico(2-3 & 0-0) in the CPC Game of the Week...In other CPC action Northside-PT will travel to face Southside for the 2nd time this season as the Seahawks won the earlier non-conference matchup between the two teams...Jones Senior(2-4 & 0-0) will host Lejeune(0-5 & 0-0) in another CPC game....

1A/2A FCC-4
-------------------
It's unusual to say the least when you have 4 conference games played on 4 different days, and that was the case last week as Wallace Rose-Hill(5-1 & 2-0) shutout(42-0) 2A West Bladen(4-2 & 1-1) in FCC play last Thursday....The Bulldogs will travel to Union(3-2 & 0-1) to face a Spartan team who was scheduled to play Heide Trask(1-4 & 0-1) on Tuesday in a FCC game whose result is still unknown at the moment?....Last Saturday, another FCC unbeaten team fell as 2A Clinton(4-1 & 2-0) moved into a tie with WRH at the top of the FCC Standings with a comfortable(49-19) victory over previously unbeaten FCC 2A foe East Bladen(5-1 & 1-1).... In the FCC Game of the Week,Clinton will travel this friday to face 2A Midway(5-1 & 1-1) who blasted 1A Pender Co.(1-4 & 0-2) on monday...Pender will travel to East Bladen this week, while 1A Trask will make a trip to 2A West Bladen...

Three-RC-4
-----------------
If you like Thursday night football, then you probably would have liked the Three Rivers Conference last week as all 4 TRC games were played last Thursday...2A Red Springs(6-0 & 2-0) remains unbeaten and tied atop the Three River Standings with Whiteville(4-2 & 2-0) and 2A South Columbus(2-4 & 2-0)....1 of those 3 will fall from the top of the Standings this week as 1A Whiteville will host unbeaten 2A Red Springs in the TRC Game of the Week....South Columbus who hammered(48-6) West Columbus(1-5 & 0-2) last Thursday will travel to winless 1A South Robeson(0-6 & 0-2) this week...2A Fairmont(3-3 & 1-1) who lost(35-14) to 1A Whiteville last week, will host 1A West Columbus this friday....1A East Columbus(1-5 & 0-2) who was shutout(47-0) by 2A Red Springs will host 2A St Pauls(1-5 & 1-1) who picked up their first win(12-6) of the season last week over 1A South Robeson....
