The Horses have survived 1/3 of the gauntlet, defeating the 4-time 2A state champions in epic fashion 34-30. Next up, a trip to Charles Richard Powers Stadium to visit those Panthers of East Duplin.

Coaching staff will have to be on the kids this week.....often you see teams come out flat after emotional wins like we just had tonight
Well, they have all week next week to get rid of that emotion and replace it with the natural hype that comes when Clinton and East hook up!

Yeah cause that 42-21 whipping last year should still be fresh in their minds.....get fired up lets shock the world again next week.....remember this was suppose to be a 2 team race.....i pulled up that old thread and laughed my ass off....if only football was played on paper....it was like the 2nd week of the season

No offense but this WRH team is hardly a fraction of what the past 4 teams have been.

Good to see the WRH vs JK fire back on the boards lol....the trash talk is better when both teams are good....if Clinton wasnt playing ED Friday i would be at that game

Just a few times, but passing is definately not Clintons game. I think your QB only completed one pass and that was enough !
Evans is a running back playing the QB position, but no excuses, we could pass and complete a few more passes, but Evans is so strong that I don't think he knows is own strength, which is why he tends to float the ball instead of zipping it like Basden did tonight. Don't have to complete all the passes, but just knowing that he could zoom one down the field at any given time should give teams some pause. At the same time, many defenses have had trouble stopping his legs LOL!

I will say this ED has one DB who can play. Don’t throw on #3. He can do a decent job in coverage other than that let it fly.

If we can run the ball and have success running the ball.....RUN THE BALL....i understand the importance of balance and not wanting to be one dimensional but it was a couple times last night when we were passing when we really didnt need to.....after that big stop on 4th down we have the ball on the 50 with 5:22 left in game and we throw it on first down into what looked like double triple coverage if thats intercepted thats ballgame we were running the ball pretty good we had plenty of time dont overthink it.....then on the two point conv on the first score when it was 30-28 i believe we should of kept it on the ground........keeping teams honest is important but dont overthink it...if they not stopping the run run it down they throat

I would have thrown the ball on that series, but maybe on second down. And have the QB purposely overthrow the receivers and DB's just to get the defense to back out of the box a little bit. But I do agree with the fact that if the run was working, no need to abandon it. Just like the Goldsboro game, the Cougars had us on our heels with the passing game, only to abandon it for the run game, which we had shut down all night.
