Wake Forest beats Middle Creek 20 to 17 in OT to decide the State Champ.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I mentioned on a different thread that Page was confused. After they saw the size of the Wake Forest front 7 they thought....."hey...we must be representing the east again." Wake Forest D is nasty....huge and fast. Middle Creek was blowing everyone away until they ran into WF. They earned this Championship. Congrats to Wake Forest!!

Great win, congrsts! You are in elite company now by beating Page. They came in ranked 66th nationally if that means anything.

Aberrations and blips on the radar do occasionally occur. Nice win though.

A Wake County team has been in 5 of the last 7 4AA championship games. That's not an aberration, that a trend.

A 29-0 whipping isn't an aberration or blip. Wake thoroughly beat Page.
I'm talking about a state title for Wake county, which most definitely is a blip. New Bern also beat Independence during their run. What did that get the east in the overall scheme of things in 4AA?

We were the last one to win prior to wake garner was the last weak county to win in87.weak county has the most 4aa. In the state the odds are always with them.to reach the finals..2 titles since 87 not 2 good

Having the most 4aa schools is a detriment, not a benefit. Look at games on Sundays to see where the talent is. Without generalizing too much, the bulk of NFL talent is black.

Mecklenburg County is 28% black and has fewer schools than Wake resulting in a concentration of talent. Guilford County is 30% black. Wake County is 18% black and has the most high schools of any County in the state. The talent is spread out.

Look at the makeup of Dudley, Mallard, etc and you have some built in advantages. The only place this doesn't seem to hold true for is 1A.

In 1-A the size of the town that makes up the school district is the most important factor, ex: Tarboro, Murphy, Plymouth, Beaufort, etc. The second most important factor is the racial make up of the school districts, ex: Tarboro, Plymouth, Wallace Rose Hill, James Kenan. If Edenton goes 1-A then add them to these examples.
