12:00 PM - 1A State Championship @ Kenan Stadium, UNC
3:00 PM - 2A State Championship @ Carter-Finley Stadium, NC State
7:00 PM - 4A State Championship @ Carter-Finley Stadium, NC State

That’s what I expected after seeing that UNC has a home basketball Saturday night.

All the games used to be at UNC. In 1998 we had to play our 2A championship on a Thursday night. It was ridiculous. They had a game Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon because UNC had a bball game Saturday night. My dad was livid that the NCHSAA would put all these teams, fans, and family on the road on a Thursday night needing to get back for school and work the next day. We got back into Shelby pretty late and had school at 8 the next morning. But winning the state championship made it pretty sweet!

I’ve always said, if your team is playing, you have to be there. No matter the time or place. Unless there is a spring season, and your son is getting married, and the ceremony starts about the same time as the second quarter.
