Me too!!School, as well as sports, are done for this year. To be honest I am worried about football season.
Shut it down and the deaths are in the tens (or hundreds) of thousands. Pretend it’s a hoax, and it would be in the millions. Listen to the medical people and not the politicians. They shouldn’t have shut things down to start with. This is going to have to run it’s course. All they’re doing is bankrupting the country especially the service industry.
Well it's the only option
Are you and all you love willing to be among that five million that you estimate would die?If everbody in the United States had this virus how many would it kill, I would guess 5 million at most . When the economy is destored, which it will be,them we go into a depression that will make the 1920s look like child's play. 10s of millions will die from hunger, secicide, murder it will be like the wild west .. I never though this many American citizens would fall for what's been laid at our feet. I remember my grandpa telling me when I was just a young boy, that only 1out of ten people are leaders, and the rest are followers . Been one of the most accurate statements I've ever heard.

lol wow. Completely uniformed and ignorant. I sincerely hope this virus doesn’t kill one of your loved ones. The healthcare system cannot operate without the quarantine. Do you not understand what that means? It’s unfortunate that people are being furloughed and/or losing their jobs entirely. Maybe electing politicians in the future that actually care about the working class and not corporations will improve our well being.
who employs the working class??? Corporations. Oh yeah and if there’s no corporations there’s no working class. Well I guess we can all work for the government and be like the old ussr
Don't buy that notion. That's an excuse to let corporations do as they please.
It’s not about the government doing it versus the status quo. There are plenty of companies out there that realize that their employees are equally important to their customers and their shareholders.greed drives economy regardless of political system. I’m much more comfortable with the corporation setting wages based on supply, demand, and skill set as opposed to the government doing it

Unfortunately, there are far more that operate with the premise that anything that makes a dollar is inherently good. Especially huge companies where the executives are far removed from the people who are the nuts and bolts of the operation. And their pay, bonuses and stock options drive their decision making.
There is a large space between socialism (or communism) and a robber baron society. We need to be filling that space as a society. But we seem to be headed back to the days of the Mellons and Carnegies. And our political process is driving that. And the megarich and some greedy corporations drive the political process.
I’ve said it before. I’m a small business owner whose business is at a standstill right now. But also a capitalist who happens to believe in equal access to healthcare as a right. And one who will stay at home as much as possible until this thing has passed. At which point, we need to reassess some of our values and who we choose as leaders.

The financial success began with President Obama’s last four years and continued under President Trump. I don’t dispute that for people’s stock portfolio and chances of having a job, the last three years have been good. Whether it truly has benefitted most Americans is questionable.that’s good. All I know is my pocketbook has been larger with trump than Obama. Up until coronavirus the country was in the best shape it had been in since before 2008.

But that’s missing the whole point. The issue here is that not everything should be measured in dollars and cents. And that’s a point that totally eludes the current administration.
What-about-ism. The great argument of the far right. People’s lives aren’t necessarily better only because of economic circumstances. There’s a holistic viewpoint that matters. The economy is part of it, but not the whole picture. The environment. Public health. Quality of life for all people. All of those matter. As does the economy. Still doesn’t all boil down to the dollar only.It is about dollars and cents. A great democrat once said “it’s the economy stupid”. If people are working and have more money their lives are better. Democrats pretend to be idealistic, but they’re just as greedy and immoral as republicans. Plus if it’s about more than just the pocket book how about aborting fetuses? What about all the immoral bull crap the democrats stand for?

People only had to pay a tax or penalty if they chose not to have insurance. So those without insurance end up in the emergency room where they get treated anyway. So who pays? The rest of us.Obama care really has improved public health. Look at how many more ventilators and resources hospitals have now. It’s is the most unfair tax ever levied on us citizens. Tax the lower middle class so the lazy bums can have insurance. Democrats that are rich don’t mind paying the Obama tax, but true working class Americans that we’re trying to get ahead got screwed with Obama care. America should be the land of opportunity for those who will work hard, not the land of mediocrity, free bubble up and rainbow stew.

The selfish freeloaders are those who choose not to be insured because they don’t want to pay for it, even when they can.
