Southeast Guilford

Where is coach Pursley? How you fire a guy that won all the time? Oh well. What's up Newt Dog??

Pursley in up in the mountains at Tuscola.

Southeast could be a good job with the right coach. Coach Hes did some good things there, he will end up somewhere else I am sure.

There are a lot of people that would be good choices for this job. Its tough to say what SE Guilford will be looking for. They just let go of a old school Wing T coach so they maybe looking to go to the spread. I don't think Pursley would be looking to move and start over again at his age but who knows? Hard for me to see them going from the Wing T to the Triple Option but stranger things have happened. I have no clue if any of these guys are even looking to be HC's but I think they would make good ones in my mind

Just some names to start discussion
-Tripp Stone (Mallard Creek DC) Won State title as MC DC
-Aaron Brand (Vance HC) Almost became the NG HC. Great year this year!
-Aaron Beal (East Forsyth DC) Great defensive minded coach. Maybe what SE needs is a young coach who is focused on defense more than offense?
-Kevin Wallace (Glenn OC) - In my mind one of the hottest OC's nobody is talking about. Has turned Glenn around in 2 years. Had Brown on the ropes and put up a ton of points with the spread attack.
-Brian Hales (Butler HC) Long shot with everything going on but this should get some people talking.

Out of those names , I see Aaron Beal and Kevin Wallace as the two names to watch with this job along with the Western Guilford job. Beal has orchestrated some great defenses at EF, and Wallace has made a dramatic turn around in Glenn's offense. Both will be head coaches next year in my opinion if they want too be. I believe Wallace would be the better candidate at this time thanks to his college coordinator experience, but both deserve a shot.

Coach Pursley still owns a house in Eastern Guilford County, about 8-10 miles from Southeast Guilford....

They are going to get a spread guy . I'm not sure who is spread from that list ? Glenn put up points and they have a lot of pass yards so I'm guessing they are Air Rade? Could help Kevin Wallace out. Not sure . We shall see.

This coach lost 6 games. Dudley, Page, EG, Davie and SWG when they were hot. You might say they should have not lost to a down Ragsdale. I think a lot of teams would have lost this year to at least 4 of these teams. Be careful what one "WISH FOR"

Good luck

As soon as I saw the post above my mind immediately jumped to the Glenn OC and East DC. I think both of these guys have the ability to be big time good coaches. The Glenn OC is creative and the reason Glenn saw success this year.

East DC is a really great guy and proved he can handle the job. Both of these guys would be great at any program as a HC. Both are semiclose to SE as well

Tough call here. (I haven't spoke to Coach Pursley) Coach P "would be" looking for a program that has a great administration- that believes in supporting athletics, and lets him run his show the way he needs. There is a lot of "red tape" in Guilford County concerning logistics that can keep "old school" coaches away. For instance, weigh training class (schedules)... with that being said, I don't see him leaving a successful program unless there is some heavy issues with admin. (He doesn't mind the fans/parents... that's really NOTHING NEW)

I really think

I think either would be a great choice for SE Guilford. I just hope if SEG decides to go with a young new coach they actually give them a chance. Whoever comes in they are going to be rebuilding. SE ran the Wing T so long it will take awhile to get good in my mind running another system. I also agree that either Coach Beal or Coach Wallace would be a great choice for the job. I didn't hear that the Western Guilford job was open. I think SE is a way better job for a young new coach. I think you actually need an old school coach like Pursley at Western to rebuild that program. You need a guy who knows what it takes from top to bottom to fix the mess that program has become.

Come on LineBacker you can't leave a cliffhanger like that. What are you hearing?

West Forsyth the best job in Forsyth county no way. If that job opens up you might have every coach in Forsyth County apply and I am not joking about that

As a WF Grad I'd have to agree with you . It's just rumors of our fans being fed up with early exits every year when we know we have the talent . But personally I'm a fan of Snow so we will just wait and see .

Third round an early exit?
Like I said I disagree with Coach Snow being on any hot seat . But I've just been hearing things that make me wonder if Clemons believes he can bring a State Championship back home . We have enough talent too do it , just seem to run into teams who out think us some . And with the new CPC next year , it'll be tough to just win the conference (East Forsyth , Davie, and a surging Glenn team makes it seem almost impossible)

When everyone going to realize if you want the Forsyth County schools to get over the hump, you must make it a priority!!! Middle school football for 1. Having a curriculum throughout the county that let's get football players in weight training year round during the school day.

If you talk to the schools that are consistently involved in round 3, you will find a lot of these things in place. It is amazing what EF and WF have been able to do, with the obstacles in place.

Nobody in Guildford County will put together a setup like Tuscola does. Again weight training schedules, and I do not even believe coach has came out of retirement. I think he is just coaching. He had a great setup at NEG with the previous administration, not sure anyone in Guildford will match what he might ask for.
