I'm going say SP. 35-7.

ER offense can strike fast and from anywhere with so much team speed, but SP will control the game running the ball, if ER can make stops and gets up it will change up SP game plan. ER defense has given up points but has started to shore the D up a little ER by 10.
Yeah well East hasnt played anybody that's got a D. SP will really be the Test for East offense.

I’m upset(in my Drake voice). Shame on you thinking East Rutherford will hold South Point to 21 points, considering how many points they have given up this season. They struggled with Polk County in the first half recently, and gave up 21 points to them, before routing them in the second half. I’m not impressed with them shutting out a weak RS team. South Point will score 21 points in the first quarter. East’s D is comparable to a wet paper bag full of groceries.

South Point by 21. Observations about SP: Each ER drive will start from the 20 (kicker kicks it well into the in zone every time), defense is not overly big (but sound) they swarm and tackle very well, #5 can score anytime he touches the ball, ER - do not kick the ball to #5 (see first observation about #5) and finally SP has been in these type of big games too many times to count (huge advantage).
Where is this game being played.....Tradition would say SP if a favorite...could home field help ER if they have it?? Calpreps.com says SP 35 ER 27

Yeah well anytime South Point had played anybody with a D, they lost.

The only "option" SP gets Friday night is figuring out which sister-cousin they are going to kiss to help ease the pain of getting that rear kicked.

I just feel that offense, is hard to stop of SP.

I can face facts. The East defense has given up points I agree. But don’t come bashing them when a mutual opponent between Shelby and East I.e. Burns has been beaten by East and then in turn beaten Shelby. East May very well go out and lay an egg but with as much talent these guys have and determination I believe it’ll be a good close game. Like I said earlier SP offense is made to control the tempo of the game and control game by running the ball. If East can disrupt that and get a few stops and get a lead it will change SP game plan.
SP can throw the ball if needed. Its just rarely they have to rely on it to win. Keep in mind Grier is a D1 recruit at receiver for us..... and as EGFAN suggest, please kick it to him.
Again it’s not your game plan..28 pass attempts on the year 2 tds 2 ints shows that you can pass....your built on the run 290 yards per game vs 65 receiving yards per game. Your game plan is to run ball and take big shot in pass play when your feel it’s right. I’m not knocking SP, I’m just going by the facts here, and fact is SP is built to run and control game.
The winner will come out looking like a serious threat for a championship
Crest, 1st game of the year and our starting QB left the game injured. Yes, it was needed; albeit SP was 7-11 passing in that game. Clover game SP was 8-16 passing with a TD and our main threat through the air was taken out of the game due to disciplinary reasons. You lose, it happens just try to improve. Just work on stopping the run.
Which will be a struggle for ER. They are very good in pass coverage, not so good against run.
i hope that I’m wrong about East, and they prove themselves to be for real, I would love for Reidsville

actually two years ago in regional final we beat Lincolnton.....but we did play Mtn. Heritage in an earlier round.....I'll hand it to their fans they travel really well making the trek to Reidsville.........
I’m hoping so too. Mountain heritage isn’t a bad team, but like you said we likely out athlete them.

Bandys fans (at least those who've been around for awhile) would probably like another shot at Reidsville...The Rams beat them in 2002 and 2003 in 2AA state title games 34-14 (2002) and 68-12 (2003)..........
I can see this game being a high scoring affair. Two teams that can move it down the field. Huge game for both teams as winner will more than likely be playing for conference championship. Athletes all over the field Friday night. Hopefully our guys can keep their cool and not get stupid penalties.
Brad Causby is a good dude. I knew him back from when I played. Knew his football too..
Shelby is a non factor this year in 2A playoffs. After beating a bad Chase team, people on the outside looking in think Shelby is back to their old form. Not true. They do have a good defense but their offense is so one dimensional as soon as they meet an above average team in playoffs they will be rolling out the basketballs.
I wouldn’t say non factor but definitely not a state title squad unless many things come together, and they are willing to play more of the better players both ways.
ER clearly has a very good running game. If the SP D that showed up for the Ashbrook team a couple of weeks ago shows up then I like the Raiders chances. Ashbrook has ran the ball very well this year but SP shut them down. SP should be able to score points on ER.
Some teams defense might struggle with that one dimension though that Lions do well offensively and I have 1 highly ranked 2AA team from the west in mind.... And if Shelby defense plays well that night and and their O-Line can pass block an upset could be very possible on that Friday evening
