South point vs East Gaston week 2

Ok EG guys what have you guys got this year? I heard some people in Stanley saying things look better over there this year.SP looked a lot better against Burns than I expected. Hoping for a injury free game and another SP win!

Unvarnished truth.... probably too early to tell, but what I saw Friday against Shelby wasn't very promising. We looked good in our scrimmage against North Lincoln, but Shelby made made us look really bad. We have some talent now, but we are young (maybe 3 or 4 seniors). I'm looking forward to watching HS football live!

Yep & Shelby beat EG 46-6. South Point won't have any issues this week.

Unfortunately, Shelby has a way to make a lot of teams look bad. Don’t let what you saw last week influence your opinion of the team. Some of the posters in our area have already crowned them State Champs. They might win it again but like I said on another thread, it ain’t over till it’s over.

My take on East Gaston.
Hill running ball is a beast, kid could play multiple positions on other teams.
I hear Qb has a concussion after brutal hit.
He was pretty big kid, wasn't bad.
I can see them moving ball and having success on teams
I did think much of the D, not real physical, Shelby O line pushed them around.
Onething for sure East plays with heart, and keeps comming at you

I was able to go the the Shelby/EG last week and walked away somewhat impressed with what EG was able to do in the 1st half. The game was 20-0 at the half with one of those scores coming after an EG interception in RZ. If they could have moved the ball at all on offense the game could have been much closer. The 2nd half was opposite. The gap in athletes caught up with them. But EG is improved. They will make some changes on the line this week that I think will help them against SP. I expect the game to be much closer than many expect.

Hill in the backfield is a man and if they get him running downhill vs. sideline to sideline they will have success. He reminds me of Tyler Bray but only bigger and stronger.

They also have to keep #1 on the field at all times. He's a playmaker.

Hill is very fast and looks to be 15-20lbs heavier than a year and half ago. #1 is a transfer and I think is our best option at QB. I didn't like that we rotated QB's last week. My biggest disappointment was our defense (still awful).

From what I was told #10 is the smarter QB; not necessarily the better QB. #1 will be on the field but most likely not at QB.

You are probably right about 10. That hit he took last week was bad. I would not be suprised if he is out Friday.

I don’t know if anyone does audio for SP. I . watched Calvin’s video and followed him on Twitter where he does a written play by play. Watched the video on my laptop and read the Twitter play by play on my phone. Not great but better than nothing I guess.

It is not the guys from 1270 but I am unsure who they are. They didn't do a bad job. They have (1) guys on the field and (1) guy in the box. I liked that aspect of it.

I’ll definitely plan on giving then a listen Friday night. Have you heard anything on Stewart Cramer this year. I know the last time we were over there, they came in all pumped up thinking they had something for SP. Only to find more of the same ol same ol. The Storm was more like a drizzle that night.
