Good morning! From what I understand we had a crew of your finest officials for our game last night (vs Starmount) pudgy white hat -unreal! You guys have any idea who I’m talking about? We got called for “brushing the official” and received a 15 yarder for unsportsmanlike to start 2nd H as our coaches were talking w/that clown; unreal!!!

Not sure they know much of anything after last night. I agree that without them no games, but My Lord I would hate to be in a close game with them making up crap as they go.

While I agree the can be bad refs and calls but you'll even find that in college and pro and they obviously have more training and a lot more pay. Just glad there are folks willing to do it because there's usually a shortage.
But hay here's anyone a chance to improve it by doing the job themselves....

If I were giving awards, the officials would come in AFTER Mt Airy, Starmount, Mt Airy Band, Concession Stand workers, grounds keepers, custodial staff, announcer, time clock operator, rescue squad, and anybody else in any official capacity at the game last night.

Despite my above post I do agree with Old Mountaineer and wish more young people would start the process. Increase the pay, I would pay more at the gate gladly.

Go to you tube watch Andrews and Mitchell. Refs call holding on offense on 2 pt try but forget to mark it off. Mitchell coach has to remind them. Then they still look lost. Then a personal foul called and the White hat looks to be arguing with other ref.

That Official on the night you’re referring to was a rookie. He made about 3 questionable calls and the Head Official was really letting him have it. But you know everyone has to start somewhere. At least he is out there and hopefully will mature and get better

Not defending the call, I haven’t seen it. Just wanted to add catchable or not catchable is not a rule in HS football.
The only thing that happened on that play was that the ball was thrown so high over the players heads the receiver stopped just before the defender did and they bumped, only bumped, together. That was it.

I am not defending the call, I just wanted to say catchable pass is a Saturday and Sunday rule, not Friday night.
But is there not a common since rule the ref should make it the receiver stopped first before the defender did and they bumped, only bumped, together. If the receiver knew he could not catch the ball and stopped running. That call could have gone the other way if the defender was faster than the receiver. Just a no-call if it happened like they say it did. But Mount Airy won 44-7, so no use in arguing over a bad call now.

Like I said, I didn’t see the play. Not commenting either good or bad call.

Didn't change the outcome of the game just pointing out the call. But going the other direction a receiver got shoved out of bounds and no call. Just saying how bad they were calling it. I don't care as long as consistent

Thanks TD, didn’t realize the Bears won that big. It’s not been posted anywhere
