Small 3A schools in 2A playoffs

This is about where most around the area thought ND would end up at this point, probably will fall a bit more next year, as Oak Grove will be full strength with 4 classes of students....

After one month of school, the numbers are:

North Davidson 1117
Ledford 1001

Ledford will be well under 1000 next year and North will be right at 1000.

Oak Grove will also be right at 1000.

My gut feel is that Ledford is about 14 points better than North his year.

My other gut feel is that if someone thinks an extra hundred kids makes a team a state champ, they’re not focusing on what’s important.

North Davidson got routinely thumped by West Forsyth when they entered the CPC. West had 800+ more kids than North did at the time. North worked hard and evened the playing field.

Still not sold on Ledford with their pedestrian offense. Their defense is great, I doubt either team wins by 14 or more. I'd love to blow em out though.

How is ledford gonna be 14 points better than North when they had trouble with Salisbury?

Also, West Forsyth is a joke. Open enrollment to go along with 2500 kids in their school, they should dominate this area every year. Instead they lose to schools with smaller numbers and get blown out by 4AA schools in the playoffs lol.

I didn’t go to the game but I think Salisbury scored late in the game to tighten things up.
But I still see North as undisciplined. I see ledford’s drives being extended on late hits and other dumb penalties.

It could very well be one doozie of a game. I’m glad I’ve got access to seats in the reserved section on November 2nd!

Salisbury had an easy scoring opportunity earlier in the game at the 1 foot line. They jumped, went back five yards, fumbled, and ledford capitalized. Then Salisbury got the late TD. The final score was not deceiving in this case. Salisbury is the third best team in this conference and will have a real chance next year of winning it.
