South Point @ Shelby: I expect a packed house Thursday night, w/ some supporters of Crest, Burns, KM, Lincolnton, and others to possibly come spectate, do a little scouting. As for the game, sorry South Point fans, but WWII era football won't get it done versus a stout Shelby D. As a raider fan mentioned in another thread, yeah, your fullback is putting up decent numbers, but he's not the bruising, tackle breaker you all are accustomed to having in recent years. And, we want y'all to pass, your passing game is still very much suspect. Only thing that somewhat concerns me is the exotic blitz packages that South Point will bring, It will be a big stage for the Shelby quarterback, but he has to stay poised and make good decisions. Shelby 28 South Point 14

Burns @ Central Cabarrus:
I want to go with the Dawgs in this one. It will be a good test for an up and coming Burns team. I will go with the home team in this battle, though. CC 31 Burns 21

Crest vs Bye:
the Chargers are off. They have an identity crisis on offense and need to find some. Scoring 14 versus Ashbrook isn't encouraging at all.

KM @ Forestview: This is a great matchup. Forestview is an improved team, people aren't giving them enough credit, however, KM is pretty doggone good, Mountaineers 35 FV 21

Bessemer City @ Chase:
The Yellowjackets are playing some good football, this will be a good game,
BC 34 Chase 28

Patton @ Draughn: Patton 31 Draughn 28

Freedom @ East Burke: Patriots 38 EB 14

East Rutherford @ TC Roberson:
Good matchup. Roberson 38 ER 28

Crest extends BYE's losing streak and breaks the 30 point mark

Read last week that CC QB broke his arm and that they have lost some other kids to injuries also. Can't remember where I saw it but it was the game story from their first game.

Everybody I think is over looking KM! This is a really good year for the Mounties! I seriously think KM can compete for conference. Crest is a downward spiral heading towards 4th place soon! Shelby is a beast but will be a good test for KM...KM will worry about SP come playoff time, however I think KM could really give the raiders a game this year!

Most on here that know anything about football, knows Km has a good club this yr.
If the Merchant kid hadnt got hurt they would be very dangerous on offense..
Now only thing ive seen is the defense is alittle suspect, also there known for turning ball over on offense.
This may improve as year goes, but this Shelby fan knows there dangerous

I think the Cavs might have something for Roberson if the cut down on the penalties .Had about 250 yards lost to penalties in the NG game. And they were legit calls

You're optimistic, so that tells me that the starting quarterback is okay.

Is malik hamrick playing this year ?

He is on the disabled list right now.
No. He is strictly basketball now.
I am not surprised as his heart has always been with bball. Someone along the line has told him he is the next Jordan but truth be told if Malik were ever 100 percent committed to football he could be a D 1 corner. Anyway best of luck to him.

South Point @ Shelby: Shelby wins this one by 2+ scores. South Point isn't as good as last year and Shelby is all around the same or maybe better.

Burns @ Central Cabarrus:
With the injuries piling up at CC and some new found pride and performance, I like my Dawgs in a "semi-close" one.

Crest vs Bye:
The Bye Week comes at a good time. However, Crest Middle could win some of their upcoming games.

KM @ Forestview: Close for a half and then KM runs away with it.

Bessemer City @ Chase:
Bessemer City by 2 scores

Patton @ Draughn: Patton by 2 scores

Freedom @ East Burke:
Freedom and not close

East Rutherford @ TC Roberson:
I'll take ER in this one. It'll be a close one.

Shelby too much for South Point 31-10
Burns moves to 3-0 by defeating CC 20-14
KM keeps rolling 28-14 over FV.
BC vs Chase is a toss up. BC 24-21.
Patton over Draughn 27-24
ER over TC Roberson 35-28
Freedom 31-14 over EB

Yes I picked Huss last week. Huss has a number of really good athletes who played really hard against EL. I still think they are a dangerous team moving forward but some of their play calling is baffling to say to least. Burns definitely had an advantage in coaching. I didn't expect Burns to throw two td passes against them but probably most Burns fans didn't expect that either. Overall I felt Burns was solid except at covering kicks and punts. If Burns can develop a consistent pass threat than they will be dangerous moving forward. Burns D was better than I gave them credit for especially their run defense. Good luck this week.

Just giving you a hard time ...your breakdown is a good one...that was a tough one to call as all involved felt as if it would be a barn burner. I am not sure how surprised Burns fans were by the long td passes. We actually had success going vert last year and added a speedster in BJ Hopper. We also had a pretty good summer throwing the ball long as well. Our short passes were off ...QB rushed a couple throws and couple times receivers ran the wrong routes - typical early in the year stuff that can be worked out....8-14 for 127 we will take it against a good Huss secondary. Yea our run defense is good and going to get better as 3 of the 4 are new to Varsity D line this year. Top to bottom Huss probably has more talent than us but good coaching is worth at least 7 points ...lol...

Well, in one game the guys on this side of the field is gonna whoop up on the guys on the other side. In another game, I think its gonna go the other way the boys on the other side is gonna do the whooping. There is even a chance in that other game over yonder that the cheerleaders are gonna spank the band by 2 tds.

Lots of good moonshine up here in UC.

Is malik hamrick playing this year ?

Highly doubt Malik returns to a football field. Trying to get 100% healthy from the knee injury for basketball season. Honestly it's a shame East Rutherford isn't more competitive, I went to ER vs NG game, and I seen 6-7 kids watching from stands that could make an impact on the football field. ( I say this because I coached these same kids in middle school). All are too worried they'll get hurt and only decide to play one sport, basketball or baseball.

Well, I saw on Facebook where one of the cheerleaders broke a fingernail so in that game over yonder, the band is only gonna lose by 7.

KM rolls! Burns wins! Shelby already has! I guess that makes Gaston County 5-1 vs Cleveland county! And Crest fans are being awfully quite during the bye week...any adjustments made boys? Or are you guys still standing around trying to figure how you went from being a beast of a team to possibly finishing 4th in the conference and county?

Are you jumping off that bandwagon as fast as you jumped on CL?

No bandwagon here. KM can still finish second in the conference. The bullfrogs better not get over confident though. Just because you make the playoffs doesn't mean you'll go far. You guys could learn a thing or two from CL. Nice guys finish last! You wanna win another state title? You better learn to swim against the current instead of with it puppies! Morals be damned! This generation doesn't care if you follow the rules any more! You gotta step on some people to win or you'll always be that team like Draughn, and wonder why you should even bother getting off the bus.

Damn that Forestivew ass whipping really hurt didn't it.

Ha!? Hurt? Where did that come from? I'm giving you honest advice so you bullfrogs will stop whining about transfers! You gotta cheat to win now a days. If you don't. You'll never see another state title. I didn't graduate from KM by the way. So no, a loss doesn't put me in a bad mood like some of these other clowns.
