SimmonsRatings Predictions

I like the Simmons ratings and put a lot of stock in Them, even though I think Lincolnton wins this one.

In last week's predictions for the western 2A bracket it was kind of peculiar how the number 17 played into both games. He picked Reidsville to win by 17 and that's exactly what happened, Reidsville 30 North Rowan 13.

In our game he predicted Lincolnton to win by 11, The Wolves would beat Hendersonville 72-44, he called the game right but his deficit in the score was 17 points, and no, I would never hold him to the scores, only wins and losses.

At a glance it looks like he is about 80 percent and when you're picking games from one end of the state to the other and maintaining an average of 80 percent, every week, that means you rarely miss. Nevertheless, our game will be one of those few misses.

With you on this one, my fiend Lincolnton. My mind and heart say a W for the L.

Mathematically, I suspect the uncertainty in his predictions will increase as the commonality of opponents diverges (regionally correlated) and the inputs approach extremes: e.g. Really weak schedules, abnormally large point totals, etc. I would love to see historical prediction rate data trended as a function of playoff round!!!

:) sorry for the geek out...

We've beaten the spread by at least 10 in every game this year except last week and it was a push. This game will be a 7 pt swing one way or another. Unless, our D completely plays out of their minds or Lincolnton's D doesn't show up.

Beating the spread depends on if and when the coach puts the subs in if it's a runaway.. Simmons can't predict that.

wolvesfan30 Dude you been holding out. Well thought out and logical post with no grammatical errors I can find. Almost like you may have been college educated? How can that be given the history of the area you purport to inhabit?

As a fellow closet geek I salute your effort to apply mathematics to explain the prognostications of HS football followers.

You even put a colon and e.g. in a sentence.

Onions do have layers don't they?

Good luck tonight nerd.

Takes one to know one, Lincolnton. Go Wolves!
Aw come on guys, get a room.

Been a good couple of weeks talking to your fans. Still torn on which team I want to win. I'll be checking in on score as soon as I get home from warm toasty gym.:p

Safe travels tonight.

And thanks for shout out.

Couldn't bring myself to go to State even though somehow, through a large loophole, was accepted in their School of Computer Science (think they were using advanced abaci, or abacuses?, then).
Not sure I can pull for a Canis lupus mascot school.

Got to stay with being Switzerland.

Again good luck.

If you want to be socialist and charge your kids an outrageous amount for basic shelter and food while being made up of equal parts of all the worse aspects of Germany, Italy, and France, suit yourself...

I suppose you could claim delicious cheese and chocolate but don't expect us to come bail you out when the Rockingham Goats invade next year.

Ain't nothing wrong with cheese and chocolate.

2 staples of my everyday diet!! Along with Dr Pepper.

Except for geography and the whole voting democratically, socialists and I already have a lot in common: e.g. being poor, toilet paper shortage, bread hard to come by, outrageous amount charged for 2 of my children to go to Catawba and Elon, and did I mention poor?

See I learn quickly.
