1A coach, David Gentry, from the mountains. 1A coach, Ken Avent, from the coast. No 1A players selected. No one should complain about a small schools
The mountain coach brought in a third party recuiting analyst to provide more insight on players and gave the position coaches the green light on who they felt was best for them. I find the lack of selecting 1A players and mountain players more telling about the head coach than not selecting more players from Charlotte. When you factor in the players from bordering counties I think the numbers are not far off from the normal for the area.
Two players that I felt would make it did not get selected.
Like that they got a guy that can spin it on the long snap. That has been an issue over the years.
Note, I only attended one combine this year and it was at Rocky River which probably had the lowest turnout of them.

Lot of the Charlotte kids have shown no interest in participation over the last 4-5 years so its hard to know who didn't get selected or who didn't want to be selected.
Couple thoughts-
Vance got Reynolds at LB but I was a bit surprised by the absence of either Ifedi or Hall. Both big talents and D1 recruits but beyond that both high IQ kids. Ifedi recruited by the IVY's. I think high IQ and good character kids play a big part when your trying to install a system in a week. That is not to take anything away from those selected.
Also thought Drake Deluliis might have been a swing and miss. 6-6 215lb TE is a matchup nightmare and also a High IQ kid.
Thought maybe Joe Butts from ND had a shot. Different kind of QB but he would have been a interesting change of pace.
Largely though these deals almost always come down to QB and OLine. When we have selected well we have done pretty well and I think they did pretty well here. Oline very athletic and Hooker and Jones can spin it which is what you need,

Wow! NC junior class is pretty loaded with the White, Dax, and a few others. Star power for sure.
Borders, Farley, Hennigan, and Dollar with Hooker at QB will be deadly if NC goes to the air. Oline looks very solid. Best selection by a coach I've seen in many years.
I thought so as well. Now....how many actually end up playing in December is a big question but they look great now.
Last year 3,213 passing with 30 Tds, 900 rushing with 14 Tds.. So far this year 1,746 with 19 Tds, rushing 518 yards with 7 Tds
We were just as surprised. lol
Except for one team. Be sure to remind him the Creek guys were pulling for him. Lol
yeah i get that i thought dax was a senior. my point was the junior class in nc is loaded for this game next year white, dax, crossen, ahlers and so many more big-time juniors. i'm sure some want play but that class is loaded with star power.

Ifedii & Hall from Vance not on this team......Its a very good team those two would have taken it over the top...
Two players is maximum that can be selected per a team. The linebacker was selected so that leaves one spot.
I think king n jeremiah is gonna b early enrollees graduating n December so I don't think it matters to them anyways
Some early enrollees have not participated. I think that is partly due to their high school requirements, the colleges may not want them to play, and some are too busy getting ready to go to college.
