Shelby vs East Gaston

Honestly, it think will depend in how EG reponds after the tuff loss last Friday. It was already going to be a rough hill to climb to challenge Shelby. I don't expect us to get blown out at home, but who knows. EG has suprised me this year (both good and bad). If we perform like we did last week, it should be a good ball game. If we get into a 3 and out or high turnover game, it will be a long night for my Warriors. We have to control the ball and burn clock. Our defense isnt good enough to be on the field all night.

Last week's game against Burns was enough to get Shelby's full attention. Shelby rolls. Hope I'm wrong. Lol.

Well being friends with No. 5. Justin Hill, I already know, they want to beat Shelby and the coaching staff at East is drilling that into them.
Hill will be a handful, but Shelby's front 7 pretty tough against the run
After looking at film last night with Shelby Qb dad, East better not crowd the box like it did against Burns, or there in for long night.
Shelby going spread them out, I just wonder do the have enough kids with speed, to roll with Shelby, and will playing both ways hurt them

I think if they beat Shelby they will have to out score them. Shelby will probably score around 42 or more just as Burns did. How good is their defense?

Hill and the running game behind that massive line will give us some issues....
We cant panic like we do sometimes after giving up a big play and go three and out and keep the defense on the
field too long and wear them out by the third quarter....

We need to limit the big plays.... I like what I see out of the East offensive line pulling the guards and tackles and Hill finding a seam in there.. Linebacker play will be huge for us this game.... they have to have a good game...

With that said, I think East will have a hard time defending our athletes as they did with Burns, BUT our problem this season has been our offensive line play, the lack of a good running game, and we have to protect Lee.....we do that we win, we dont close hard fought dog fight ....

+1

Had EG at Burns last Friday on the radio. Was really impressed with EG; totally different EG than we've seen the last 5-6 years.

Their running game is very good and features two really big backs in #5 Hill (6'1", 214) and #1 McKinney (5'11", 205)...then they have two scat backs, both 5'7", 160 (#6 Goins and #8 Stovall).

The QB #7 Sherrill is very poised and is very accurate and a lefty...gotta watch out for McKinney out of the backfield as well as #4 Cloninger...

On D they are huge up-front and both Hill and McKinney are very good on D (Hill at LB and McKinney at DE). But the biggest difference maker is #73 Lucas....huge and strong and disruptive.

For east I'd love to see the upset I think Shelby wins maybe tight but Shelby gets the dub
