Ledford got a safety from a snap over punters head. Then our de got injured and they went off tackle immediately for big yards to set up a TD.

East Rutherford 48 East Gaston 7. East Gaston ends the year 0-11 and outscored 487 to 89. One of the worst HS defenses I have ever seen (in 40+ years).
I had a strong feeling North would lose. They aren’t nearly as good as last year and they are losing the horses they had. Furthermore they haven’t been nearly as sharp this year. The time was just right for Ledford. They won’t get any easier, Ledford J.V killed North JV
Sounded like Coleman Reich’s tackle at the 3 saved it for Ledford.
If Ledford had any offense whatsoever, they’d Be a sleeper pick to make a run. Unfortunately, despite their defense being one of the best in the state, they don’t score enough to beat the top tier teams late in the playoffs.
Folks outside of Welcome have long known that Flynn wasn’t what he was cracked up to be as a head coach and was riding talent. That’s been evident in a few games this year where he’s failed to make adjustments, lack of discipline, etc. north will always have enough athletes to be good, but over next 3-5 years, they’ll slowly fall off with Oak Grove ramping up.

Egfan I did feel bad for the players and coaches. 44 is a stud and believe me I was so glad he scored at end of game. I do hope the program turns around for you guys soon.
Yep 44 is a stud....unfortunately what you saw last night has pretty much the story of our dismal season. Good luck to ER is the playoffs.

Edit: it was 2013 Parkland. A dying 3A school moved up to 4A and got smacked. 32 points scored, 20 of them against Southwestern Randolph. Blown out in every game that year. Most of em 50 or 60 to 0. Worst team I ever saw...

It's was bad for both East Gaston and West Caldwell anyway you look at it. Here is the deal for East Gaston, the majority of our points were given up in the 1st half. If not for the mercy rule our scores and defensive stats would have been much worse.
I’ll always throw South Davidson out there for worst team considerations. While Central Davidson is working really hard to unseat them as worst in our county, South always manages to disappoint. This year they did defeat Atkins. But lost to the only team they have a shot at beating year after year, Chatham Central.
I know that there are the winter sports to turn to, but it would almost be entertaining to see a West Caldwell, South Davidson, East Gaston and Camden County round robin.

Wow!!! Those teams must be terrible. Camden County has only scored 56 pts all season and they are 0-1. 28 of those pts came against 1-10 Perquimans County in a loss.
In 29seasons of varsity football, South Davidson’s overall record is 70-263.

There’s no way y’all should have lost to us. All y’all had to do was just blitz A gap every time and we would have never got a snap off. And y’all did and it was bad but quit. Y’all have a better looking group of players than we had. Our average grade of player for that game was 10.5 that’s a average of a 10 th grader. With a 5 foot nothing tall 9th grade qb. That was all coaching. I actually don’t like to say things about people I don’t know but with that big back and a qb that has speed and size up front NO WAY. JS
I agree, we pass the snicker test. It's like, how in the world are we this bad? We need a major coaching overhaul (which should have happened 3 years ago). In 2015 we had talent capable of winning 9 or 10 games, but we struggled to win 7 and lost in the 1st round.
May be the first thread I've ever seen on here with people competing to be the worst team of all time. Refreshing!
I would do the same... Also throw Charlotte Garinger out there. Two wins this year on the field, one by forfeit. Usually winless...
South is worse than Central, but it would be cool to have a playoff for actual worst. Central is at least attempting to do SOMETHING. South never will. A coach would have to go in there and coach every kid individually by himself and hire his own assistants. South has been poisoned for far too long, going back to Denton High. They had one winning season and went to the playoffs. They have NEVER won a playoff game. South had 6-6 seasons in the early 2000s but couldn't keep it rolling.
Garinger is typically the worst large school and South is generally the worst small school. Just based on history. Garinger is sad because back in the day it was not that way. But that school is OLD...
We won 2 games but feels like we actually won 1 game that was against Polk co. The game against East Gaston it feels more like we was given the game more than a win.Funny, but true.
