SWE starting TE Quontellas Norwood was shot in the head in what was told to many to be gang related activity. Norwood helps keep that SWE offense going with his stellar blocking and plays very well on defense as well. He provided a key 2pt conversion reception in last week's win over North Edgecombe. Amazingly, it's been said that he is in fair condition, but please please don't take my word for it. This is all through the grapevine for me. I'm only posting this so that there can be even more prayers thrown his way from all the great high school football supporters across the state. More than football fans, it has been my impression that you all are just decent men period. Please pray, not for me, but for this young man. Thank you.

Prayers from Catawba County. Hope this young man fully recovers. Prayers for the family members most of all. Heartache and anger are both hard to deal with at the same time.

It's that heartache and anger that lead others to make irrational and regrettable choices, leading to a never ending chain of violence and prison. I wish it would stop. Norwood had D II talent. Most likely out the window now.

Well, like I said, that was the story when it got to my ears, but I'm not making any claim that I know what happened. Whatever the reason, I'm just concerned about his recovery, as I'm sure we all are.

This has not been related to any gang activity.

Per certain members of the team, Norwood openly admitted his affiliation with a certain....group....and that the shooter was someone from another....group. So call it what you want.

As everyone knows, you can start with the number 1 but by the time it reaches the tenth person, it's been changed to the number 1,385. As was the case here. Norwood was not shot in the head, but rather the neck. He is listed in critical but stable condition as of 9/01.

Almighty Father, Thank you for your love, grace and mercy. I pray that his discomforts will turn to comforts, his tear to smiles, and his illness to wellness. Prayers for the young kid and his family. Hope for a speedy recovery
