Midway vs Hobbton-Has the potential to last till Midnight the way both offenses throw the ball around lol. Ill take Midway in a comfortable win. X factor will be Holland who didnt ay tonight maybe just nixed up but that offense will put up points. Midway 42 Hobbton 21

Fairmont vs Lumberton- honestly dont know much about either. Fairmont is breaking in a new head coach new system only won 1 game in the spring. Lumberton wasnt much better either went 0-5 during spring season. Someone has to win this game. Ill go with Lumberton in a close one. Lumberton 28 Fairmont 21

Red Springs vs Douglas Bryd- dont know much about either. RS lost alot to graduation including a talented athlete transferring to St. Pauls. But i think they have enough to handle DB who went 0-6 in the spring. Ill take Red Springs 21 Douglas Bryd 7

St Pauls vs Purnell Swett- heard SP lost alot to graduation but do return some pretty good options in Baldwin #23 and QB #1 Breeden add in new RS transplant #5 Eddrian James and you got alot of talent to deal with on the offensive side of the ball. Not quite sure how much they lost on the lines but with those 3 they have some guys that can move and put up points. Some calling them one hit wonder i dont think so Bulldogs will be tough. St. Pauls rolls in this one. St Pauls 38 Purnell Swett 14

West Bladen vs South Columbus- familiar foes if i remember correctly Coach Dove coached West Bladen for awhile. Think it will be a quiet ride back to Bladenboro. South Columbus 42 West Bladen 14

East Bladen vs Wallace Rose-Hill- picked this as game of the week mainly because of the tradition between the two but this has protential i think to be a good game. EB has had some good showings in the preseason of course Wallace is a huge step up from North Johnston and Hobbton. EB played well vs a good South View team tho. They have some good size and athletes. Defense in particular seems to be a strength from what i saw and heard. But honestly i think Wallace has alil too much that offensive backfield for the Bulldogs is loaded. Battle of the wing t. I think its close early own before Wallace really flexs those muscles. This just ine of those match ups im confident Wallace wins but just dont know what type of game it will be Wallace could easily blow them out or it could be closer. Ill take Wallace 35 East Bladen 24

Chris I think this was a little premature and I may be wrong but its Sunny and there’s not a cloud in sky right now at 4:10.

Seems like everyone around us is canceling aswell. Looking at most weather sites have 70-90% chance of rain/storms at 7pm but im holding out hope. I rather play tonight or tomorrow if it comes to that instead of having to play Monday and having a short week to prepare for Wallace

Not sure what weather app people are looking at. Last night at Clinton the weather was perfect for Football. 20% chance of rain and your canceling games? Its summer people always 50% chance a storm might pop up.
Glad Clinton played. They looked solid.
Also had a Soccer Jamboree going on at the same time with 8-10 teams. Both fields looked great.

Spoke with the AD from Midway last night who was at the Clinton game and said Hobbton postponed the game before noon yesterday. Turned out to be one of the best nights for high school football you could have in August.

Yea I figured it wasn’t Midway who made that call. AD at midway is pure class and that dude loves to play, so he wouldn’t postpone nothing till absolutely necessary. Btw there is like 50-60% rain on Monday. Hobbton may have been avoiding a storm but it was coming from spiveys corner not the sky.
