Stuff like this makes me cringe. This sounds like a huge problem and a huge lawsuit is on its way with many individuals sued as well.
Coach Mac Bryan is a good teacher and football coach, he has coached and taught in NC, SC and Tenn.
I have recently dealt with a bullying issue among juveniles .....they are ruthless and social media takes it to whole new level. I never seen or heard anything remotely close to this at burns but no program is immune to kids making terrible choices.
When this happens to a female society calls it rape and you do 20 in the pen. When a male does it another male its bullying and hazing. Rupturing someone's colon with a broom stick is lifelong mental trauma as well as physical. Heads need to roll. Disgusting how schools try to hide violent crime against males under the term hazing.
Yep. He also was head coach at West Wilkes in the 1980's, and at Lees McRae College before they dropped football.
Yesterday there was a story on ESPN OTL on the rape and assault with the pool stick. Two other freshmen were also assaulted. Neither coach nor the AD reported the incident and the police were called by the local hospital after they removed the tip of the he pool stick and surgery on the prostrate and colon. All three have been charged for failure to report. All three are suspended without pay. The coaches were in the same cabin upstairs when they heard the screams.

There are some soon to be unemployed staff whose wallets will eventually much lighter, along with the school system. Some boys will be going to prison where they will likely get to incur similar behavior visited upon them. The program will probably disintegrate and probably should if the adults running it are that poor.
