Talk..he addressed that in his radio show Saturday morningHeard a certain coach may be leaving for a job in Buncombe County when it opens. any info ? or is it all just talk?
First time since 2012 and before that, 2001. All them have something in common, some of the worse teams AHS has had. And yeah y'all lost to them by double digitsHe likes the milltown air...doesn't like being put out in the first round..you all know that feeling to don't ya

You don't really expect him to sit in the middle of the Jukebox Junction on Black Bear Radio after a first round loss to a lower seeded team and say he is leaving Canton do you? They were probably swarming around outside ready to hang him anyway.
Truth is he has said several times not just on the radio that he was not leaving. No doubt Brett is a young coach and since his family comes first he will probably leave sometime if a better opportunity comes along.Asheville is not that opportunity
I do understand how you Tuscola people would want that.Since you never cared for those other Pisgah coaches that you ran off from Tuscola.Does Allen ,Noland and Sexton ring a bell?.
Im no football analyst or mind reader, nor do I claim to know what is in anybody's heart, but if there was an opportunity where coach Wilkins decided he indeed wanted to retire and chapel was offered the job, he would be out of canton so fast it wouldn't even be funny. It's not a coincidence that of all the coaches in WNC that HIS name is the name everybody is gossiping. Who knows when coach Wilkins decides to hang it up, but when he does, I have to imagine there will be a long list of candidates vying for that job, in the city of Asheville, in north carolinas best stadium, with our talent and our tradition. The pisgah coach may just think canton is the greatest place on earth and wouldn't leave it for the world coaching at pisgah may be his dream job, but I think there is a reason this thread has even been created. Somewhere that idea was planted.
I didnt say anything about fans lol. It is a great stadium though like you saidThere is a reason. It was started by a Tuscola fan.As for your great stadium ,what good is that without fans?
I know Chapell would win a ton of games at Asheville if he took that job. That's almost a certainty.
Hey if anyone deserves a job as a HC it's Bucky Tarr. He is a great football coach, and Sexton has turned Erwin into one of the best programs in Wnc.
Just hope whenever they leave Erwin really has a thorough hiring process to get the best man for the job.
I don't know when Wilkins will retire. I know there have been rumors swirling for some time, but if and when he retires, I have to imagine there will be DOZENS of applicants pouring into our athletic director. Hopefully he makes a long thought out decision on who will be Asheville's next head coach whenever that time comes.Best looking campus.
Best looking stadium.
Most talent BY FAR year in and year out.
Better exposure.
More money.
Let's not kid ourselves boys, Asheville is a HUGE opportunity for any coach in WNC. it's the premier job west of Shelby.
I still cannot believe that in 15 years of Asheville football for Coach Wilkins, we haven't had one natural QB. In 15 years we haven't had one guy who was 6 foot 1, 6 foot 2 who played quarterback at age 8 and 18 or was a college qb prospect. That's crazy to me. Of course we have had amazing athletes at that position like Crezdon Butler, Rahkeem Morgan and Michael Byrd, but none of those guys played QB in college. They were just our best athlete being put at that position. (I.e. Rico Dowdle) The closest thing Asheville had to an elite natural qb was the summer of 2003 when Jonathan Crompton was transferring from Erwin and was very nearly came to Asheville high to play with Crezdon Butler, Johnny White and Michael Byrd. Ultimately he decided he wanted to go to Tuscola and play with his coach and finish his high school career 0-5 against Asheville, but that's neither here nor there.Asheville has not always had a QB that would be effective in the spread. .

you're either the biggest homer in Canton or very delusional, if you actually believe thishe will probably leave sometime if a better opportunity comes along. Asheville is not that opportunity
