Rose 4A Eastern Champs

Hats off to Rose for winning the Eastern Championship. New Hanover's QB hurt his hand banging it on a defenders helmet in the First series and had trouble gripping the ball after that. Even a five yard pass was a struggle. NH tight end/former JV QB Walston took over at QB in the 2nd half and made it a game.
Tough to play Rose when you know you have to score consistently to stay in the game.
Rose's defense was stout throughout the night and it turned out to be much more of a defensive battle than was thought.
Regardless Rose got it done when it counted. let's bring the 4a Championship back to the East!!!!

Congrats Rose. Powell is a special player and he only got he bal twice. He will have to get more urges than that to beat CC who may have the best defense is the state.
Does Rose not travel well? I'm watching the game from last night and their crowd looks pathetic for a regional final. At least early.
I thought their fans were a little skimpy too but a bus load or two of their students did show up after the game started.
For those of you who do not know, Rose has a very successful program, especially in the early to mid 2000's. They lost their coach to a Fla school and when So Central High opened they lost some athletes. Rose fans feel free to add to and or correct this statement.
When a new school opens in Clt is generally seems to be another 4A. Downeast when a new high school opens it generally reduces the size of a 4A school and the new school is usually a 3A.
When I started high school in 1980, the Mideastern was a 9 team 4A conference. Now you are hard pressed to find 9 schools in the 4A classifcation east of I-95. Some of the 4A schools in 1980 are now 1A and 2A.
In my opinion, in most years the 4A eastern school in the state finals is better than or as good as the 4AA eastern representative.
Catholic needn't worry about the Rose fans - their only concern should be if #3 shows up!

#3 is CC's main concern whether they bring 20 fans or 10,000. He can ball for sure! I did know they had a lot of success I believe 4 straight titles from 2003-06 in 4A. Very impressive!!

COULD none oF the Three not aBLEI t o step in, NOne of Them have GAME exPErinece? I FounD it Very Odd that the TE who Probably hassn/t taken a snap at QB since JV is TrYing to win a playoff game. Is There CONCErn at That position NEXT? With ALl thT being said ... I thought Watson DID a good job with hIS limited experience back there.
No idea what the thought process was. I'm sure the coaches had a plan in mind. If we had tied it at 21 when we got down in the red zone might have gotten interesting!!!
