Reidsville vs Andrews

Glad the county games are over. Hoping Andrews wins tomorrow too.

Andrews plays in Raleigh Monday night.

Maybe some of the Red Raiders faithful will give up a report.

Also, any recommendations from Red Raider Nation about best foods at the concession stand at Simeon Stadium?

Ravenscroft is 1-1 ... beat Southern Vance 43-22 but lost to High Point Christian 40-14.
Southern Vance must be really weak on defense ... lost 50-48 to Webb in second game.

Concession stand is pretty generic with your usual suspects.....chick fila, pizza, popcorn, etc.

My recommendation is to get in town a little early and get some BBQ from Carter Brothers or grab pizza and wings from Blue Rock Pizza. Both are on Main Street and within 5 minutes to Simeon.

Rams will win This one by a lot. Andrews had 12 penalties for over 100 yards from what I read in the paper last night. They also had 6 turnovers. They lost 4 fumbles and had 2 interceptions. Also up 22-21 with 8 seconds left, they were called for a late hit out of bounds when the QB was scrambling to run out of bounds which gave Ravenscroft college bound kicker an extra 15 yards which made the 33 yard field goal much easier to convert as opposed to the 48 harder for the win. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.

Can somebody tell me why Andrews was running quite a bit of I formation and spread in week 1, now back to more of a hybrid wing t? Also, where is Andrews kicker? Do they not have one. Saw where against Ravenscroft they didn't attempt an extra point and also struggled with kick offs including 1 kickoff that went 6 yards, most others only 20 yards give or take.

Teams struggle to find a kicker sometimes -- Reidsville fans know that well. Rams are lucky to have Brad Green, a four-year starter, as a team strength.

Remember when Andrews had a outstanding female kicker? Forgot the name.

Andrews also had one of the best punters in state history in Johnny Evans in the early 1970s. He went on to punt for N.C. State and the Cleveland Browns. He also played QB at State.

I recall Snow Brenner, but it seems I remember Andrews having a female kicker also. ??? Maybe not.

Evans was QB as well. I remember him kicking the ball so high it went above the lights at Kiker stadium. They had RB Ted Brown who went on to play for NC State and the Minnesota Vikings then too.

That was the best punting exhibition I have ever seen in high school. Richmond County fans probably remember similar punting by Mike Thomas. Evans wasn't exactly chopped liver punting for the Wolfpack either.

Which brings us back to the original point -- Andrews needs to find a kicker.

No kidding

They had a good kicker the last few years that graduated. Hard to believe there's not a single kid on campus that can kick an extra point or kick a ball off the tee with consistency.

Going to be a long year for my Raiders, a buddy of mine texted me before the season and said dont be suprised if they only beat Ravenscroft, Wheatmore, and trinity.

Hey TWARedRaider01 glad to see ER not on that list. Andrews usually rights the ship when they get into PAC6 schedule. However your comments make me not dread the Andrews game as much as usual.

Talent is there at skill positions. Execution has been abysmal up to this point. Missed assignments, penalties, turnovers. Shoot yourselves in the foot. Rinse and repeat.

If anyone think the Rams will just run over Andrews, they are gravely mistaken. Rams did get blasted last year 48-3.

A lot more moving pieces this year and we lost some to graduation. Rams by 4 td's if we keep playing like we have to start year with turnovers and penalties.

Last year during the playoffs we ate at some local BBQ place. I think they have more than one location ut this looked like the Main Street and looked like it may have been a old Hardee's or fast food pls E but the have a good menu there and food was excellent. I'd rank it up there with Stameys in Greensboro or Short Sugars in Reidsville.
