Reidsville @ North Forsyth

Reidsville has played North Forsyth twice in football...1971 at North Forsyth and they beat Reidsville 28-14.....1972 at Reidsville (at the old long gone Kiker Stadium) and North Forsyth won that game27-0.............The 1971 NF team won the state 4A title....hard to believe today I know.....Interesting fact about the 1972 game with North Forsyth..at halftime...hometown Air Force Hero Steve Ritchie was here on leave and honored at halftime.........he was former player on the 1959 Reidsville team and he was a Viet Nam War Air Force Ace.......

Boyce Shore of Tobaccoville kicked the winning field goal for the only state championship for North Forsyth. Well known photographer. Had talent over the years but not good enough to contend. When Reagan high opened it hurt North in most sports

I remember North being really good in basketball before they went 2a. They still have some athletes though

I did both the 1971 and 1972 games on Reidsville radio WFRC (now gone)...NF had a stud of a running back...I think his name was Claude Smalls...I may be wrong.....the 1971 game I had the pleasure of announcing that game with my cousin, the late Gene Overby (long time voice of Wake Forest sports and TV personality for what is now WXII)...........................

North Forsyth is 2-2 ... wins over Forbush (28-21) and Lexington (35-13) and losses to Mount tabor (52-7) and Morehead in conference opener last week (21-14).

They had a lineman that went to Wake Randy Woodle.

they were a very, very good team...strong and physical....high school football then was a lot different than now....some of the kids playing today would find out in a hurry how much different......today's game is more of a finesse and speed game...................................

A long time friend of mine played at Northwest (Forsyth?). He roomed next door to me in college. He once caught about 4 or 5 TDs in one game for NW.

think the old Northwest High School was one of the first consolidated high schools in this area.............later changed to North Forsyth..................

My senior year at Hickory High and we lost at North in the semi finals. It was a tough loss to swallow.

My age group was northwest 7th and 8th, Mt Tabor 9th and 10th ,11 and 12 North Forsyth. North had about 1400 students

weird how Forsyth county schools use to move students around where the last 2 years is where they graduated from....when did they do away with that system??

There's no chance Vikings has a chance. It will get ugly really quick in the first 48 minutes.

NF's so dang hard to predict. Coach Williams has done a ton of good since he got there for sure. Gilchrist let the program fall appart at the end which was a shame as he had them going good 10 years ago. His follow up was a joke and brought the program down even more. Sadly they still have a ways to go. Beating Forbush was huge but they came back and lost to Morehead.

If they had the 2019 freshman class still they would have been really good as they were solid. They lost a ton of those kids to transfers and they aren't the same team. Still have some good kids but not anything close. Reidsville should be fine but if NF scores more than 7 that would be a mega win.

Reidsville j.v.;s dont seem to be as strong this year but of course a lot of sophs and some freshmen are on the varsity squad

Yes, I think that 9th and 10th grade at one school then 11th and 12th grade at another ended in Forsyth Co. maybe in the mid-80s? I am an 1989 Mt. Tabor alum and by the time I went there it was a 4 year HS. A few years before I started there, I think it was a 9th and 10th grade school.

North Forsyth JV won 12-8 over Reidsville
Wow, either North Forsyth could get pretty good here in the next couple of years or the Reidsville JV team is not that good. North Forsyth varsity has been very mediocre to bad for years and years.

and even earlier Mount Tabor was a regular high school....at least they were in the conference with Reidsville in the 1967, 68, 69, 70 seasons......when we played them in 1967 (my senior year) it was an away game for us but the game was actually played at North Forsyth high school.....guess they didn't have a stadium for a few years.....................

The Rams definitely could've played better tonight, fumbles were a definite issue. But the referees were absolutely out for blood in this game, this was one if the worst officiated games I have ever seen in my life. Had to be close to 20 penalties for Reidsville and maybe 4 for North Forsyth
