Reidsville Bball Summer Camps

Been following the Summer Camps and noticed the usual Neal, J9 and Jones stat sheet fillers. I know Kendre is off at a football camp in Tampa.

I wanted to know more about the depth pieces since we lost Lee and Mansfield. I noticed Grier and Scales making some contributions. Any info on them?

Any freshman to be aware of?
 
Adam Grier appears to be a new key piece

Rams did well today as it appears, Kendre, scales and jones were not wit the team today

I figured it would be rare to see all of them at the same time on the court together. Especially with the attention the core 4 is probably getting in football. Any team would be good with just 2 of the 4. The fact we have all 4 at one time is uncanny.

I remember Scales but didn't know about Grier. Good to see a lot of the underclassmen getting some run too.

Interesting. Based on the stats he could round out the starting 5 in bball with Lee and Mansfield gone. I hope Scales continues to develop as well.

As far as football goes, this is an interesting development. What year is he?

I saw on MaxPreps Grier is 6'4 and was a freshman(?) last year. No stats or anything I could dig up as far as football or bball go.

He’s more a basketball player from what I heard. However he has played qb before. He will have a chance to start for football. The last starting spot will either go to him or scales in basketball.
 
Weird. His dad was head coach at e forsyth girls while daughter played at ledford how is he going to reidsville open enrollment
 
Grier is from High Point, recently attended High Point Christian. His dad was big in AAU in last 10 years and had a sister that played some college ball and played at Ledford.. The portal is open, especially if Reidsville is winning over HPCA and Wesleyan for example LOL

Saw Kendre and Dionte r playing together on Team CP3 at the Peach Jam. They r killing it on a national stage. Pretty sure Dionte won Team CP3 MVP last year as a sophomore. They r actually right across the river from me in North Augusta SC. Sure hope Dionte is in his ear about running it back for back to backs 😉
 
If Grier is Qb at Reidsville. Potentially could be one of the best Qbs out of Reidsville with a P4 high ceiling. Basketball. If Grier is added. Reidsville seriously needs to play a national non conference Basketball schedule. They can with anyone

I wonder how he was at the ville to start with. Did they move and move back to Ledford district? Overhyped.

Who knows. He never actually went to the school. But participated in some summer activities. My guess is when Kendre left they decided not to come.

Or all the hype on here about him being QB and he didn't win the job. He better have been formally enrolled if participating in summer activities or could be in trouble. The plot thickens!

Shoulda stayed in the ville if he was going to go to Ledford. With a nationally ranked basketball team and a undefeated football team.

Im not certain it was intentional, but though Ledford football appears to be struggling, Mr. Grier does fall into a program that has a new and exceptional coach in former Thomasville men’s coach, Ann Ferguson. She took both the tville girls and boys from obscurity and took the boys to very deep play off runs, while consistently winning coach of the year on multiple levels. At least from the outside, she seems to develop talent well and her grasp of X’s and O’s has shown itself to be far superior to most coaches I’ve seen over the years. Rumor is that she’s also bringing a hall of fame coach out of retirement for a second time to work as her assistant. My money is on him developing and shinning more at Ledford than Reidsville, which may well benefit him in basketball and recruiting.

Idk Maybe, but I’d counter that with it’s way more college coaches coming through reidsville right now for both as far as getting noticed and offered

That’s fair, though I don’t think exposure will be his issue. It’s going to be performance. Perform and they’ll show up. I also believe Ferguson was a high DII or DI coach, so it might be a wash. The question will be, for me, is he comfortable running, gunning, and pressing like she seems to in the play off games I’ve made it to see. Extremely high paced basketball coming to Ledford,

I’m fairly sure that Grier went to Ledford for middle school before transferring to HPCA. His sister, Aramy, graduated from Ledford in 23’.
Their dad, Aaron, started up the HP Stars AAU program. I believe they’re the Carolina Stars now.

Is John Ralls coming out of retirement , or could it be Don Corry ?

It’s don corry. That’s the name. He was with coach Ferguson at tville I believe. It’s fascinating to see a gentleman who didn’t coach her style coach along side her. Interesting approach by Ferguson to do that.

If it’s Corry, he’s had a lot of success at a few schools. He had talented, fast paced men’s teams at Lexington.
He was also successful with girls at E Davidson and Asheboro.

Probably thinking of Don Corry. She is a very good coach. Some players are just over hyped in basketball and sports in general. Ledford talent dropped off so he will shine and if she develops players there which I believe she will do they can be good.
 
It will probably help Ledford men’s athletics in the next realignment, as well. I believe they’re the smallest 3A school right now and it’s hard for them to compete with athletes and schools that are much larger.
 
Looking at how the conference did in the playoffs, it doesn’t appear to be particularly strong anyway.

Should be an interesting thing to watch. I’m a North Davidson guy, and after watching Thomasville go from being more than likely a win than a loss for whoever plays them to seeing them become a team to consistently is at the top of their conference and consistently making very deep runs into the playoffs, my fear is that that is what will happen to Ledford. They have size, they have a length, and now they have an extremely good athlete who the schools in this conference won’t have much of an answer for if he pans out; and I’m not certain can out coach Ferguson enough to eliminate him.

I think a lot of people in this conference connected to other schools were deflated a bit when she let tville for Ledford. Ledford felt mismanaged and poorly coached last year. I’m not sure they’ll happen this year.


What does realignment look like for this conference?

Nope they stay 3A with ND, mont central, Central Davidson, Asheboro and oak grove
 
Ledford will most likely be in the conf with the likes of East and West. They’re ADM is at 780. They could possibly be in a split conference with North/OG but not the same classification with 8 classes.

So the conference realignment for 2025-2029 final on the nchsaa website isn’t right? When is the 8a realignment?
 
The state will provide the NCHSAA the ADM at the end of October/early Nov, I believe and then they will start working on conferences for the 25-29’ realignment.
