Randolph County goes in waves and the fact that they have split talent has hurt them. Eastern Randolph and Trinity before the split were both on the cusp of being 4A and Randalman was close to being 3A. ER was the best team in the county and Trinity under Gillespie was very respectable. I do not think that Randolph County wanted schools that large, but you would have had 2 4 A schools ER and Trinity and 3 3A schools in Asheboro, Randalman and SW Randolph. But anyway back to what i was saying, talent in that county seems to go in cycles so maybe it is a down cycle.
