Quavaris Crouch - Harding HS - 2019 RB

I can't comment on Crouch as I haven't seen him other than than the clip above. Maybe the best in the class of C19, but I have to give all the credit to Zamir White. People may get tired of hearing it, but he is the best RB in the state. The best I have seen in a long time. Maybe you were referring to Crouch as all-around.

Zamir white is the best RB I have ever seen in 30+ years of watching HS football. He has a 2nd gear that is breathtaking and more wiggle than Crouch. All that said I think most scouts would say you are splitting hairs because Crouch is 6'2 225 and still growing. He is Eddie George to White's Saquan Barkely.
Crouch however is also the best defensive player on the field as well. His numbers against a good Providence team when I saw him were 23 carries for 350 yards and 4 TD's, 2 sacks, 3 TFL's and double digit tackles. He played DE, OLB, MLB and SS at various times in that game.
I believe Scotland without White is a 8-9 win team. HArding without Crouch wins 4 maybe 5 games and is one and done in the playoffs. Beyond that Scotland was and will remain a good to great football program once White is gone. Crouch has taken a program that has had exactly 2 winning seasons since 1990 and made them a legitimate state title contender.
Crouch is the best football player in the state and maybe in the country. Its really not that close.

I agree because he plays both way but here is where I think you are splitting hairs and not equating apples to apples.
Hypothetical - If you had one player to pick would you pick Crouch or White to start a team like old school in yard - I would pick white because you can't coach what that kid has. Crouch is like the kid in P & R biggest and one of the fastest kids on the field so he dominates.
Secondly, do you think White would be just as dominating if he played both ways? I do because no one would be able to block him from a lb or safety position.
Crouch is the best player because his teams requires him to be but if SC needed White to do the same things he could do it in spades IMO.
Its like picking between Beyonce and Olivia Munn are you really settling and is there really a number 2.
White is hands down the best back I've ever seen live. If I'm picking the best Football player in the State of NC this year. Unanimously Quavaris Crouch. He dominates on both sides of the ball. While Scotland uses White sparingly sometimes. Crouch carries the ball sometimes 30+ times a game while also dominating on defense. He would be a pick for All State on defense & offense. You get credit for what you're doing and not for what you could be doing. Throw in, he's also a 4.0 kid

The problem is I dont have to speculate on whether Crouch is dominate on both sides of the ball. I know he is.
Its just about production for me and has nothing to do with recruiting or hypotheticals. They are both athletic freaks. One just does more than the other.
Agree - But who would you take if you had to pick to start your squad? Just a question?
Production is also about making the most of the opportunities given to me. Both are great, but with what White is doing with his opportunities gives him the nod in my opinion. White at 13.9 yards per carry is unheard of. Then at nearly 35 yards per reception, give me him to build a team as I'm sure he can have quality production on the other side of the ball if need be. I would take Crouch in a heartbeat too, but if forced to choose one, give me White.
Both great players .
I personally would like to see him meet White
in the hole and see what happens.

Crouch was hit a dozen times like that against MC. He is not contact shy. Neither was White for that matter. Both like to bang and Kalan is as good as any Mike in the state.
Tough question. I like White because I think he can go the distance anytime he touches the ball. That extra step is what seperates him from anyone else I have seen play. I have never seen anyone run away from MC defenders like him and that includes Crouch.
Now...here is where I have my concerns. He has been banged up alot in his HS career. I am gonna assume that is why Bailey has really managed his work load this year. Crouch played that game against Providence where he maybe took off 10 plays the entire game and he looked like he was ready to play another 4 quarters. His game against MC he carried it 33 times and took some monster hits. He carried it on their last drive 9 straight times 65 yards down the field at 5-6 yards a crack. He is a tough , strong SOB that plays angry.
i think we can all agree Crouch and White are as good as any players in the country! Next!
I agree, that would be great but let me ask you guys this question. What happens if Crouch is running the ball and there is nobody in the hole and White is drinking gatorade on the sidelines............Would that piss you off?
Either one would be a blessing for any team, I just love the conversation and film dropping. We need more conversations like that on here.
Easy 2 do that at this level but u can't take kill shots 4ever especially at the next level
I’m not sure why everyone thinks that was white. That was McQueen that was hit on that play. The announcer at the end confirms it.
See when u look at that play all u see is "Zeus is great". Who actually made that play r the 2 lineman and the wr blocking on that side. Why is the db back 20yds from the wr? Is he Julio jones? Is Scotland passing game such a threat 2 where I gotta back so far off because I'm afraid of that wr? And the end there's no contain? Lbs also...no outside contain? I'm sorry Zeus is a great athlete but that defense is poorly coached n deserved all that he gave them.
