Projections 1A Girls Basketball Play-offs

I feel that this year is a deep field and you will see several upsets. This is a projection

Number 1 Seeds(no particular order)
1.Hiwasee Dam- Little Smoky
2.Cherokee- Big Smoky
3.Winston Salem Prep- Northwest
4.Gray Stone Day - Yadkin Valley West
5.East Wilkes-Mountain Valley
6. Avery -Western Highlands
7. West Montgomery- Yadkin Valley East
8.Community School of Davidson - Southern Peidemont

Number Two seeds( A couple conferences will have teams that a number 2 but because they dont finish in the top three in the conference they will qualified as wild cards)
1.Hayesville -Big Smoky
2.Highlands-Little Smoky
3. Atkins -Northwest
4. Lincoln Chatter -South Piedmont
5. Albermalre -Yadkin Valley West
6. South Davidson-Yadkin Valley East

Number 3 seeds
1. Robbinsville-Big Smoky
2. Blue Ridge- Little Smoky
3. Mt Airy -Northwest
4. Pine Lake Prep -South Piedmont
5. North Stanly -Yadkin Valley West

These would be the 32 teams from the west in my opinion. I would could see a 2 or 3 seed making to Greenboro

Absolutely. A couple of interesting matchups coming up as well that may show movement amongst the 1 seeds.

HD vs Cherokee
Albemarle vs West Montgomery (they play the 3rd and 4th back to back)

Atkins is a dangerous 2 seed and so would Mt. Airy especially as 3 seeds either one is a tough matchup.
Bishop has been playing with all of these teams and could make another run.

I see hayesville as another one that could make a run as a 2 seed as well.

Guys, I believe that the seeds are based on a 22 game schedule. this means a school such as HD or Cherokee can drop a non-conference loss or 2. This means the loser of the Cherokee-HD may still be considered as an undefeated team as long as they stay unbeaten in conference play.

That's correct based off a 23 game schedule max you are allowed to drop 1 non conference loss. And it will be interesting to see if Roxboro will be in the west again this year. I believe it can change year to year and that won't be clear until the 64 teams have been set.

I have now push River Mill and Roxoboro back east due to the fact so of the lower seeds out west will have better records then the lower seeds out east.

I think West Mont will be the 1 as they are undefeated and HD has one loss. However if HD plays 23 games they would drop one non conf loss and I believe then it would come down to a coin flip. Wouldn't MA be lower as the #3 out of the NW?

I think this is a great projection. Good job.

MA will be the highest seed 3 team in the west the worst they will finish will be 17-6 and drop one loss they will be 17-5. The best number 3 seed in the west. This could change if bishop win the conference or their is a 3 way tie in the big smoky. That is still possible if Robbinsville beat Hayesvile which would create that log jam

Not that it will shake things up too much, because it will only impact the very bottom of the bracket, but I think you're overlooking Andrews. They should finish 8-10, which would put them ahead of at least Mitchell and Murphy.

Chatham also beat SD so they take the 3rd seed from east Montgomery.

South stanly beat North Stanly so they I believe will have to play to see who gets a 3 seed.
