Is it possible for more than 4 teams from a 7 team 2a conference to make the playoffs under the new system

Playoff formats have changed again this year. Go to the NCHSSA website, School Central, then to 2017 2018 Handbook Abridged edition, competition section, starting with Rule 4.1.17

If i understand the new rules correctly for this year, a league with 7 teams is guaranteed to have 2 of them in the playoffs...but beyond those 2 auto bids, the at-large or wild card teams will be determined by maxpreps rank, not overall record like it used to be, so it's mathematically possible for all 7 to make it....OR you could have only the top 2 in with the automatic bids

It's worded as: "Teams in their classification with the highest MaxPreps ranking (or other NCHSAA selected ranking system) will be selected to fill the remaining slots in the bracket." So don't be surprised if NCHSAA selected ranking system is developed for monetary gains.

Also, with the auto bids there is a possibility (if I did it correctly) of 32 to 39 (based on split conferences finishes), which means there are going to be 25-32 at-large teams.
