The bottom half of the 4AA West bracket is Murders Row. Whoever comes out of that bracket will be battle tested and beat to death.
The Creek! Been there done that. Played Dutch Fork. Than played Gaffney & Vance back to back. Played all 3 games away!
I know the Creek is battle tested and a great team! The emphasis should have been put on the beat to death part.
This bracket shapes up pretty good for my team,
Gibbons , Scotland rematch in the east final. Scots the overall 1 with a win out . LOTS of ball to play before all this is decided .Much can happen ..
Knightdale. South view, new bern may have a say in this also, or Scot slides west and loads up that bracket .

A lot of the teams have had great depth and talent but the QB and specialist push this one to a different expectation for me.
Yeah, I get it. Have thought every year since 2011 other than 2012 and 2014 that they would be in the title game. In 2014 they surprised me and got a little lucky as well with ARW going down for Butler.
This team absolutely has all the pieces and have played about to expectations so far in my mind. That said the 4aa West if Richmond is in the bracket may be the toughest since the subdivide. It only takes one bad half to be out of it.
How many times have these projections been somewhat correct? All for fun in my opinion..
That's bases on South view and Conley winning there conference and the Scots finishing 2nd.
And have a #1 seed take an early exit? CPC West beat East and even at that gave up 38 points. Let’s not think more about it than that.
When needed the Creek can put Trent Simpson in the backfield, along with the passing attack. Hard to stop. There's no a DC in the State that would call that average.

@ 6'3, 240lbs I believe he'll be ok. Come cold nights, you better have a run game along with the passing game. Or the party will be cut short.
When you come up against a strong Defense, that slows your offense down. Which will happen. That's when you have a problem. Both EF & WF have problems on the defensive side of the ball. Gotta be able to tackle. Heard that from about 4 different people who just love high school football with no skin in the game. I didn't attend. I heard it was barn burner

I think asking questions about West Forsyths defense and Vance's offense is totally legitimate. I would be concerned about both after this week.
I also think you are at the portion of the season where injuries AND lack of focus come into play. We run into this just about every year. Homecoming dances, school is in full force....etc,etc.
Georgia just got beat by a avg South Carolina team at home. Those are 19-21 year olds. 16-17 year olds are much harder to keep on task.

Regardless of how MHS played Vance. Their defense is the last D, I would like to see in the playoffs. They have players on the O side. It seems as if their OC is not putting it together.
You can breakdown the scenarios anyway you like and spin it. I can go the other way and say the snap and recovery for the TD was the result of having the 3rd string kid in.
" Most" opponents is the key word. West Forsyth is gonna finished undefeated again just like 2017 and 2013. They only need concern themselves with 3 maybe 4 teams.
2017- Avg 13 pts against. Then came a decent Hough team and they got 41 hung on them
2013- Avg 11 pts against. Then came a decent Butler team and they got 48 hung on them.
Neither of those teams even made the finals those years. Trust me.....West forsyth has a tacking problem. East Forsyth is a good offensive team when healthy. They were nowhere near healthy Friday night.
Mallard Creek will put a lot of points on the board against West Forsyth. WF will need to have more diversity on O than they did to kep up.
Small EF backs gouging West defensive front after first contact. Could not believe the amount of yards they were able to drag.
The EF v WF game was exciting and fun to watch. Absolutely shocked that someone would consider either of those offenses equivalent of Mallard Creek's. I would look very closely at the two defensive performances from Friday night and think about those and the result of the scoreboard.
I don't think either team would have a problem scoring against Creek. The question is can they score enough.
This year heavy run game against the Creek would be challenging. No team has gained over 100 yards rushing this year. The most points scored was 27 Dutch Fork, who is averaging 50 a game since playing MC. I believe MC front 7 would give both teams fits. MC would be the 1st team that both teams played, That rotate 10 to 12 kids on the D line

We need more matchups between Triad and Charlotte/Sandhills teams. The CPC and the Metro agreed to match up teams for non conference games similar to the ACC Big 10 challenge following the latest realignment. Would be interesting to see something similar set up between the northern and southern sections of the state. Take the top 5 in each region, WF, EF, Dudley, Page (in most years) vs MC, Vance, Richmond, Scotland, MP whoever, why not include Reidsville and Shelby while we're at it. Would be nice to see where everyone stands without having to wait for one game at the end of the year.
Different year. Same story for West Forsyth. If East gets Marshall back they could still win 4a.
2013- 2017- 2019...Like Ground Hog Day. I am not sure if Mallard Creek will win it all. I am positive West Forsyth will not.

South Carolina & VA elite programs are always looking for games. You don't have to play NC teams only
You might want to be concerned about all four, Vance, Mallard Creek, Richmond and Myers Park.
I know East can still win the 4A, that's why I didn't mention them. Also it's only a dislocated shoulder, Marshall should be back soon.
I never said West would beat Mallard Creek. I just think it's the only team they would struggle with out of Mallard Creek, Myers Park, Vance, and Richmond because of how much of a juggernaut they are on both sides of the ball. I haven't seen that with the other teams. Well actually I haven't seen Myers Park at all. So maybe I should exclude them. But they haven't played anybody so yea.
I know at one point Forsyth county required schools to play in county schools for all or almost all non conference games which really limited our options. Looks like this has changed recently as only 2 in county non conf games this year. We've branched out with scrimmages in recent years to take on the top teams so hopefully we'll get some on the game schedule soon.
Nah. I don't have to be worried about anybody cause my team barely even exist anymore. The players for West need to worry about that and I'm sure they're taking everything day by day.
But as a fan of the sport, Creek is the only team that I think controls West offense for 4 quarters and that's due to depth.
