I heard Pasquotank is looking for a HFC. Last coach left after one season and the school hasn't won a game since 2019 season. Can this be a potential winner with Northeastern as the crosstown rival. Have they interviewed candidates yet and can they stop the losing streak this year?

I would say NO. From what I was told from the former HC due to I know him (He back in AZ) and He told me there no fan or admin support and they struggle in many area - My thing is u have 3 schools all within 15 miles of each other (1 is in another county but still) and The way the district lines are All the athletes n talent go to Northeasten anyway n Pasqutotank gets what’s left it’s not a fair divide and Also I heard biggest issue he had was Crime has gotten bad there from what he told me but that’s a different topic n all but I think it would take a special coach to win there bc u have get kids wanting to come to Paqtank. Then Northeastern

it’s a tough area Imo

From what I've heard the last coach was ran out of town because he wasn't that good and believed in a Air raid system. The team wasn't coached well and there was no culture under his regime. He also didn't stress weightroom. Idk if this is true but I've heard they could be decent if they were coached better

everyone has their opinion its a 2 way street.... he may not been the right fit but Im sure fan support n admin support could maybe bad or good idk but ik having northeastern in same town n the district lines are - all the talent goes to Northeastern

you took algerbra?

2022 - x = 6

2022 - y = 5

If my math is correct that would put me around 20016 and 2017. In those seasons they were (5-5) and (3-8) how is that almost taking over the county. Also in the same timeframe Northeastern was (11-3) and (13-1).
The problem is you can't run the county until you put together a foundation which PTank lacks. If they can get a coach in there who is committed and willing to build it could change the tides, now that doesn't mean they will become the new Northeastern but they could definitely have its own culture that could garner wins.

Are you from that area and what school do you represent. Maybe that fan support is what they need

I think it would take a special type of person to change it n also would have change a lot like community support , Admin support n possibly get some kids from Northeastern to come there
That is the biggest problem. All the talent transfer to Northeastern. It's only two schools in the county and they are 5 miles apart. I think the new coach would have to set a base foundation with an emphasis on technique and win some games that way. Once the kids see they can get some wins they will be willing to stay at Pasquotank. Again they won't win big immediately however they could realistically win three or four games this season and build or hover around that total for the next 3-5 years. Which I think will entice players districted to Pasquotank to stay instead of transferring.

Another problem is they play in a 2/3A conference with a little over 500 kids. They should be re-conferenced or allowed to be independent and play in 1A. That would also keep the kids interested knowing they won't be going into every game out manned. It's hard to play against 2/3A schools when it's only 28-30 plays in the program

Yeah and then also u have you have camden county HS across the river so that 3 high school that are close to this school so ik camden is difference county but i wouldnt be shocked if some across the bridge to go to that school bc this school hasnt had much winning success in most sports

NC should allow 1A team to play in a 8 man league in AZ - Most 1a i have seen here play 8 man football

It's not enough 8 man schools to build a 1A league. It's only like 8 or nine 8 man teams
I'm saying teams that have less then 800 kids n have low #s in football - NC should allow them to convert to 8man thats what im saying. 1a school should be 8man if they cant maintain #s

I understand thank you for explaining further. I agree, school like Mattamuskeet, Columbia cape Hateras would benefit from that

Problem is parents thinking their child will win a scholarship if they specialize ( usually softball, volleyball, boys basketball, and baseball). An entire industry has developed between the high school coach and the colleges saying if you pay us a certain amount of money we can get your kid a scholly!!! In a small school when the athletes specialize then football suffers!!! Parents have become totally unrealistic!!!

The boards issues was because of experience? Interesting they should have took that into consideration before offering the job.
No, that was not the board issue. IDK what that was. But, they did deny the hire. The board doesn't interview typically. Just my perspective is, the lack of experience made the choice an interesting hire.

They probably didn't have many people apply and he was best candidate. Idk why experience would play apart every Head Football coach had to be a first time head football coach. Also anyone who is willing to take over that program is someone they should try to keep around

Yep. Gotta get that first opportunity. That's a tough place to start a career as a HC too. May be a blessing in disguise. This late in the summer is a terrible time to find a good qualified coach.
