Or "1A/2A Conference 31" as Max Preps so humanely describes it.

With one week to go, this is where we ummm.............stand.

On the boys side, PG will clinch this thing if they can beat ER (Tuesday) and Wheatmore (Thursday). IMO, ER will be a much tougher matchup for them than Wheatmore.

Uwharrie has Wheatmore on Tuesday and SW Randolph on Thursday. These will be interesting. Wheatmore beat Uwharrie first time around and SWR only lost to the Eagles by 4.

Trinity goes to the roundabouts on Tuesday and hosts ER on Thursday. In the last meetings, the Bulldogs lost to Randleman by three and ran ER straight out of Ramseur.

The girls side will be very interesting.....

SW Randolph has a very easy road to second place. They host Trinity this afternoon (shouldn't have much of a problem) and travel to Uwharrie on Thursday. That final game could be rather good. Cougars only beat the Eagles by three the first time around.

Wheatmore has Uwharrie on Tuesday and heads to Climax/Franklinville on Thursday. The Warriors beat both of these teams the first time around.......but by very narrow margins. Despite their record, I think Providence Grove is going to give the Wheat another tough game. One thing that really hurts Wheatmore in this race is that SWR beat them both times.

UC has the toughest road. They have Wheatmore on Tuesday and SWR on Thursday. The Eagles lost both of the first meetings by narrow margins.

One other interesting note, is that SW Randolph has a non-conference battle with South Davidson the day before they face Uwharrie. Will UC get the Cougars at their very best?

Boys- PG should have 1st with who they have left, Trinity will be 2nd and and Randleman 3rd (might squeak in the playoffs). Uwharrie Charter has #1 wrapped up in 1A (can all charter schools just play each other and have their own conferences).

Girls- Wheatmore will be a sneaky team in the tournament and state playoffs. Randleman and SWR are state contenders IMO

I feel you on the charters. I don't mind them being in regular conferences but I would love to see them have their own division for the state playoffs.

SWR girls are playing some great basketball right now. Teams better not take them (or Wheatmore) lightly.

Well.....we've had quite the shake up in the PAC-7 this week.

On the girls side, as a result of Uwharrie's great win over Southwest, both Uwharrie and Wheatmore ended up in a tie for third place. Also, with Trinity's win, they ended up tied with PG for sixth. I don't know if they will flip a coin to see who gets what seed.

On the boys side, we had ourselves a little shocker last night. SWR beat Uwharrie. As a result, Trinity clinched second place. With that win, SWR tied Randleman for fourth place.

Now......there is still one more game to go. Uwharrie plays at Wheatmore this evening. However, both teams seeds are set in stone regardless of the outcome.

For the conference tournament, both the opening round games and semifinals will be played at the higher seed. Both championship games will be at Randleman on Friday.

Any clue why Snotherly didnt play vs Trinity last night. Terrible and boring game. Trinity played 4 corners most of game.

SWR boys are on a roll, 5 in a row. 1st rd game with SWR-Roundabouts could decide playoff bid. My prediction is Trinity boys and Randleman girls win tourney

From what I understand (and I could be totally off base with this) is that she has to sit out a certain amount of games because apparently you can only play so many games in a year. She transferred in from Winston Salem Christian early in the season. I had no idea there was a rule against this. Like I said....I could be off base.

So Trinity took a page out of the Coach Kelly playbook, huh? I used to love watching opposing teams and their fans react when he did that (LOL).
