I know folks in the east have been tied up with more important situations I started back on the boards this week. I was looking at the 4a top 10 and man it looks different than last year for sure. I think the 4aa will be won be either Hough or MC no surprise their. Really impressed by Vance not sure which way they will go and RC is much better than I thought. With that being said if I had to pick my final 4 in both A & AA it would look like this:

Hough & MC (West)
RC & WF (East)

EF & West Meck (if Vance goes big)
East i have no clue none of the teams standout (71st & Gibbons) maybe South Central

Overall just a really strange season when have you had state finalists with 1 win between them in 4a. I mean Harding and SC look nothing like the teams last year. I didn't realize Harding lost to Garinger. Coaching matters and someone last year said that QB was a difference maker. SC is just an avg team this year with small numbers but should be in every game for the rest of the year for the most part I think RC runs away from them with superior skill players by 17 but I think SC still slides into the playoffs with a 500 record. That all changes if they loose to any of the traditional bottom feeders. The Pinecrest game could be the game that gets them in or not.

I could and probably will be dead wrong but i think there will be plenty of upsets in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs.

Wishing everyone the best who are still facing challenges from the storm.

Yup, coaching matters but lets not forget they dont have Crouch ( they have 2 wins if they have him, maybe 3) and they lost one of the best Olineman in the country and one of the best DB's in the state. They just arent a re-load type of program. Zero JV last year. Greiner knew it was time.

Scotland will recover quickly be back to the very top in a year. Harding will be the opposite. Just nothing to sustain the program. Myself and Nepsy were laughing on Saturday night. Greiner has 15 coaches on the sideline with him at Hickory Ridge. He was calling every offensive and defensive play at Harding. Just zero coaching infrastructure.

I was unaware of crouch. Did he decide to shut it down or is he injured? That would explain a lot. Just saw record.

The 4A east appears to be wide open. If the playoffs started today I don't know who I would pick to win it all.

I think it is fair to say "both" in this case.

Yeah- I think he is gonna be a early graduate. Was a little surprised not to see him on the sidelines at all when they played MC. Looks to me like a decision has been made. Not surprised.

LOL. I arrived in 3rd quarter and saw the same thing Greiner is a one man band. The excuse at Harding was he had little coaching support. He likes him some him. He is like P Diddy always up in the video

None of the teams are special and none have special players. I saw South central vs Rose and they are one of the only undefeated 4a teams in the east and i was unimpressed to be honest. I think if you get in and have a 500 record and have played a tough schedule you have as good as a shot as anyone. I mean it is really some avg football being played. Hopefully this is just a blip. I thought Hoggard would be really strong with the skill players going d 1 and the kicker but must have lost a lot on the interior lines and I know the OB graduated.

QB is the biggest question, big time drop off. Jones was a stud and this kid is just getting his feet wet. He has a lot to learn. I will say that he has gotten better each week.

Scotland likely gets #5 back next week. Might not carry much load, but should be ready for the main stretch. I think he is key to thriving this season into a decent year. The defense has been the bright spot in week 2&3, getting smiley back there will make them even better.

:)

I only want #5 back if he is ready. I think they need to play him on defense all the time at middle lb and run a few wildcat plays with him on offense and screens. If we run him as the primary back he is going to get pounded. With no legitimate threat at qb to run the ball (that i have seen) it will be tee-up time on #5!

Crouch has been hurt since the championship game. Believe it's a nagging ankle and hip injury. Don't think he will appear this year. As for #5 I hope he doesn't jeopardize his health to come back to soon or come back at all. If he has an offer he can commit to I would strongly consider it. Look at what happened to Galloway-Valesquez.

No. What happened?

The 4A East has no stud teams so SC just needs to get in and be healthy and ready for a run. You never know how the stars may line up for them.

Same thing for Hoggard, the QB gets better every week and the team fixes some issues and is clicking at the end, you never know.

JMAC, are the rumors true that Jason Romero has transferred to Northern Durham??? That's the word on high school ot.

Yeah I think he is gone. Maybe Florence impacted his home and he had to leave. Not sure of the reason but if this is where he wants or needs to be I wish him well. Very talented! If motor gets better he will be a 4 star kid with 30 plus offers. Hard to find that type of size and speed. I have always said I'm in favor of athletes and parents making the best choices for their kids.

If you are speaking of Galloway..He was hurt in the Scotland game his junior year. Had an ankle injury that continued to nag him going into the senior year. On top of that the arm injury. Really hurt his stock.
