Does anyone have any knowledge of who Oak Grove is looking to hire? Will they stay in Davidson County or go somewhere else to find their coach? Are they looking at top coordinators or Head Coaches?
Not sure they've named a principal or AD. I suspect that would come first.Does anyone have any knowledge of who Oak Grove is looking to hire? Will they stay in Davidson County or go somewhere else to find their coach? Are they looking at top coordinators or Head Coaches?

You're right. I forgot that the school board appointed Dalton from East Davidson. Don't know if that will affect any staff hiring. They should hire Brad Hoover. That would go a long way toward winning over the Ledford community. They have named a Principal already. Good job with all the new equipment, stadium, community support ($), and kids from two successful schools (Ledford/North). Only problem is the first year in conference next season there will be no Varsity team so the CCC schools are left without that 11th game on Varsity.

Good one! He does have that history. If Oak Grove's mascot isn't some form of felidae, I don't think they'll have much chance of landing Hoover.
All 3 will be 2AA most likely. Maybe 2AWhat are the projected classifications for Oak Grove, Ledford, and North after OG opens?

Yes, Hoover is at Cannon

I've known Brad's dad for fifty years. He played at Thomasville. But I can't imagine any scenario that would bring Brad to Thomasville.ocdavis31, just asking the question. Do you think that Thomasville would make a run at Brad Hoover in the future?
Wow, you are not kidding, 10 team conference. How did those 2 Rowan schools get in there. It would have been a perfect conference without them. Was there no where to put them down that way?Not much room for non conference

Originally, they were going to leave Thomasville out, but Thomasville appealed. The NCHSAA in all its wisdom.Salisbury and S Rowan should have been placed in the league with W Stanly, Mt. Pleasant, Forest Hills, E Mont, Anson and Central Academy. Giving them an 8 team league and making the CCC 8 teams. Will be interesting every Friday night with all those good teams in one league. Only having two non-conference games will be a challenge for coaches and players to get things tightened up before conference starts week 3.
Thomasville being in the PAC would have cost them big at the gate. Lots of traditional rivals in the CCC.Tville was originally going to be with Randleman, E Randolph and HP Andrews in the PAC. It would have made the PAC it's most competitive since it opened but Thomasville wanted out and into the CCC. Instead just Jordan Matthews is getting added and it won't make things much different or better off in the long run.
Thankful they were pretty much out of compass points when they chose Oak Grove. Wonder if they considered Northwest Davidson before going with Oak Grove?
In the early 1900's, there was a one-room school house in that area named Oak Grove School. The school system appointed a naming committee, which suggested the name for board approval in 2012. Other finalists were Rich Fork and Rock Creek. Not from there but I believe there is already an Oak Grove Middle School, so I'm guessing it's the name of the small community in that corner of the county
