Not really gonna make a prediction on this game, because I don't know what to think. The only time I have seen West Stokes on the field this year was at a 7on7 and thought they looked good across the board, had tons of athletes and monster receivers; but execution seemed to be poor on offense!
West got down 14-0 first quarter but came back to win 43-29. The defense really stepped up after the first drive. North Surry defense could not stop the running game by the wildcats. Big win and good luck to the Greyhounds the rest of the season.
Well North coaches cost them another one. Stupidest play calling I've ever seen. Three times North tried onside kicks and gave West the ball at mid field. The QB for North is a great player but spent most of the night running for his life. Did they not learn anything from the Mt Airy game. North repeatedly lined up with an empty backfield and left #1 without any help. He took a beating last night and it was all on the coaches.
The difference between good coaches and bad ones are adjustments. Norths coaches don't know how to make adjustments. Didn't even try to establish a run game. Kept sending revivers on deep routes when the QB had no time to set up. Got to learn how to get the ball out of his hands quicker (shorter routes) or put a tailback in to help block. He won't make it all year at this rate.
Also need to figure out how to get the ball into number 10s hands. Screens, sweeps, handoffs, short slants, anyway you have to. He should be touching the ball 15 to 20 times a game.
