Idk if they're done and this is partially updated or what. But if this holds true than you have a new #1 out East @daagoob . I don't have my stuff in front of me to look at bracketing, but from eyeballing the west, we have 3rd round matchups of:

Shelby/Providence Grove
Reidsville/Hendersonville or Burns
----------
East Surry/Monroe
Maiden/Salisbury

I literally just checked and Northeastern held #1 from 5:09am to 6:09am. Sorry brother @daagoob it was a shorter flight than expected.

Kind of reminds me of when Monroe came to Mt.Airy a few years back and and we were shocked at how bad they dismantled MA. I have never felt sorry for Mt.Airy..but i did that night. Monroe had several D1 athletes on that squad. I think the QB signed with Duke.

The smallest gap in RPI # between teams is between….32. North Stanly and 33. Brevard.

The difference is .00016. Daayuum!

Regrettably…neither team is in….due to Owen having an automatic bid….I think!😔

Man brevard played their hearts out last night and the football gods were trying to help them out also 😂 ( some crazy things happened)

They put a serious whooping on the Bears . They showed up in Bryson city a few weeks later expecting the same result. I was there that night, never seen such a confident bunch as was the RedHawks that night in pre game. $th quarter you could see that confidence blowing in that cold mountain wind. They didn't want to get hit no more , that swain team laid on that bunch hard all night. Couldn't believe it , that Monroe team was loaded. As athletic of a 1a team I could ever remember. Swain played in the ship the following week against SWO. They lost that game , was there for that one to. Couldn't believe they lost that game after seeing them dismantle Monroe the week before. Think that was Padgett's last game at SWO. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

The final RPI did Burns no favors whatsoever if that ends up being the bracket. The previous update by HSOT seemed to have a more favorable draw for us.

McMichael is the merged schools of Madison, Mayodan and Stoneville. Won a state title in baseball a few years ago. Allen Webster was on that team … A right handed pitcher, he appeared in MLB for three teams over 5 seasons and had an 8-6 WL record. Last appeared in 2019.

This Hendersonville team actually reminds me of a Shelby team ... team speed is great and the QB to receivers communication is outstanding with a pretty darn good running game. I think if anyone can compete with them it will be Burns because y’all are so familiar with Shelby.
