New A.D. for Lexington Senior High School:

So the AD, Ronnie Beverly has left Lexington to become the facilities maintenance director (non-athletic) at WSSU.

Here is an interesting hire for LSHS. Given the carousel of coaches that have been marching through there lately, I have a feeling that they are looking at a similar carousel-type scenario with the AD position as well.

Thoughts?

I have a question just from seeing this post. Does Lexington not still have a wealth of talent. Good athletic kids if they can turn into good football players?. I mean there's still a pretty big school right? Sorry just wondering. Doesn't seem like they're really good at anything anymore. What is the deal?

With the new AD in place do you think this will affect coach Morman who is going into his second season. He finished 2-8 last year the best they've finished since 2018.

Will the AD look to move to another coach if he does not add to the win total?

From what I know they haven’t hired a new AD yet but Coach Morman should be fine. He improved the win total last year and if he continues he should be good. The community loves him and the kid’s respect him. That should be enough but you never know

Numbers are the biggest thing at Lexington. A school of 900 kids but doesn't get many come out for football. At least that was the case the last few years. They only had about 12-15 kids in the weight room last year from what I saw. If numbers go up Lexington has talent walking the halls.

However the best athletes have been transferring to ND OG and CD. Lexington will be more successful once they keep their best guys from other schools. They won two last year and were young. If all the starters come back and don't transfer they'll be better.

My two guesses as to what is happening at Lexington. 1- Academics and Attendance are an issue with keeping kids eligible. Those two things are a must to participate. Kids start out with failing grades or attendance issues and they are lost to the streets, jobs or just doing nothing. 2- Hispanic population is now the largest in the school at 38% and growing. Those kids don't play football in general so the coach will have to find a way to tap into that demo to grow his numbers. Poor numbers equals poor results when everyone your playing has bigger squads, more size and bodies to throw at you.
