Deanna,
Quick questions do you think there is huge spread between teams 2-13.? I ask because various polls/rankings seem to have these teams all over the place with MC and Dudley being 1 and 2 for the most part. Also, by going to the new format the midwest region could place ND, Dudley, Catholic, SC, Vance (if they go small) and 71st all in that bracket which mirrors last year. Can you think of a tougher path in recent history other than last year in which Catholic beat some very good teams. I know a lot could change but the 1/4 and 2/3 match-ups could be finals? I think this years teams in this region are better than last on the whole.

The thing is other than Vance most of the scores among the top teams have not been blowouts and competitive. Scotland has had some double digit wins.

It should be some great match ups. I really am glad that the Richmond/Butler game was a good one.

That would be a tough bracket...getting a top 2-3 seed in each region would still not protect you from an unbelievably tough matchup as early as the 2nd round and definitely by 3rd round. Guess that's the way it should be, but to another poster's point, can you imagine having to beat Scotland, Catholic, ND and Dudley just to make it to Raleigh this December. A testament to the quality of football at this level in NC!

The 4AA Midwest "pod" this year could have #1 Mallard Creek, #4 East Forsyth, #5 Butler, #7 Vance and #9 Richmond as 5 of their 8 teams (along with Page, West Forsyth and another Charlotte school).

Mallard Creek is the first of that group that could potentially move far West, Richmond is the first of that group that could potentially move to the Mideast, and Vance could potentially move down, so it's still early. But that's not even to make it to Raleigh...that's to just make it out of the third round.
