A decision was made tonight that the Area IV championship series between East Rutherford and Cherryville will be a best of 3 series beginning Wednesday, July 21 in Cherryville. All games will be played at Fraley Field in Cherryville.

Part of the reason for the decision is that the Cherryville Junior Legion team will be travelling to High Pont Thursday to play in the Junior Legion State Tournament and will be using the Cherryville team bus. I understand that Rutherford County will be getting half of the gate for Thursday's game. It was something that Rutherford agreed to do. It wasn't forced on them. Yes, Rutherford is automatically in the State Tournament.
