East at Ashe, at the half in a really good game. Ashe has played well and controlled the line of scrimmage. They have tackled well.

That is a shocker!! Swain has been on a downward spiral since their last trip to State in 2012. There will be a lot of talk from the Smokey Mountain guys about this one. Coach Briggs and Cherokee are now on track to win that conference. Could not imagine Cherokee mentioned as a contender 2-3 years ago. Congrats to former WCU Catamount Kent Briggs (player and head coach)!!
East Wilkes was pushed for the first time since the East Surry game. Responded well after halftime. Onto an improving Elkin team. East should easily win, but rivalry games can be tricky. Then Wilkes Central for the conference championship. Should make for a fun two weeks.
