Several posters have made very direct comments about the Mt Airy overall play, play calling and game scheme. I believe the vast majority of thoughts are correct. But it is also the first airing of those thoughts in public this year.

I can assure it is not the first time many of those thoughts and items have been discussed privately all season long.

The fact is their were underlying problems all year, some the coaches could deal with, some they DID NOT think they could deal with, and therefore, did not.

I will not go into those here with one exception: Bryson Taylor.

He came to Mt Airy from Forbush where he played his first 3 years of high school, then wanted to transfer to Starmount because he actually lives in that district (as I understand it), but the Yadkin County School Board while allowing him to attend class at Starmount would not approve him playing football there.
His very fine Mother and Father petitioned Mt Airy. Mt Airy did not approach them.

From the very beginning it was obvious how talented he is. That talent was used on defense and he either leads the State or is near the top in interceptions.
BUT his real talent is on the offensive side. He ran Forbush's offense out of the wildcat with a very limited supporting cast. He topped 1000 yards.

His speed is either the top or second at Mt Airy. His ability with the ball in his hands is remarkable. His determination equals that of RB Taeshon Martin.

AND HIS ABILITY WAS COMPLETELY WASTED THIS YEAR. To the point of being shame full.

I have spoken to several D2 college coaches and told them about him and what I think he could be given a redshirt season, where he is in the college weight room and program, controlled diet, and college level instruction.

Given what many of us Mt Arrogant fans saw all year long, it is easy to keep quiet when the very good and talented team is winning. That same winning allowed the coaching staff to not make adjustments, because, I mean they won 13 straight games this year.

But when you play a Corvian type team, or would have played if we had been fortunate enough to play Tarboro, at some point the problems show up.

Nobody is more of a Mt Airy fan than I am. I use my name on here, I do not hide behind some "handle". I try never to say anything I would not say face to face. And I know some Mt Airy fans will not like this post. But it is the truth.

Mt Airy has a LOT of talent coming back and some coming up. I look forward to this coming year. As always, GO BEARS!

Mt airy is going to have to get a passing game going next year to succeed they haven't had that since Kelly Holder left and Adkins took over as of this season there receivers couldn't catch a cold if you placed the virus on there upper lip fact is fact they haven't throwed ball in so long they cannot catch or they can't throw this run up the middle every play isn't going to work for sure

No ,do like Corvian load the box. I thought there would be a team to stop that eventually. They may have been working on a passing game but just were not good at it.

Now now, all good things must come to an end eventually. Don't cry because its over, just be happy it happened. I'm not being a douche bag either. Programs would die for half the success y'all have. To be the man you gotta beat the man. On one night the man got beaten and the streak was over. Be proud of your kids and coaches. They work too hard to have every move second guessed by old washed up has beens like us. Be proud and go at it again. Yes we have opinions but they are like feet and arm pits. Most people have a couple of em and not everyone like their smell most times.

On a separate note, be good to each other. There's too much bad and not enough good in this world. My daddy always said a pat on the back is better than a kick in the tail. He was a smart man, I'm sorry it took me so long to realize that.

My life is fine. Obviously you don't like when someone calls out the nonsense
Nope. They hate it. They're really going to dislike moving up in classification and being irrelevant to the playoff discussion in their new division. As time goes on you'll see less and less of the Mt. Airy cult on here blathering on about their team and when you do it'll be reminiscing about the good ole days when they were a big fish in a small pond. No one will miss them when they're gone because they've shown their ass so much on here the last few years.

I'm not a Mount Airy fan but I think they will have success in new 3a classification it's basically what small 2a was.
Shelby will be hard to beat but, other than that I don't see a team Mount Airy can't beat ,yes it will be tougher ,but with a program like the bears have they will be fine ...

I agree, Mount Airy will compete just fine in 3A and on paper are probably the second best 3A west program but as you said Shelby will be in their way in the 3A west which means the days of winning or making it to state title games are over now.

I agree. Most years MA not going to be strong enough to knock Shelby off. Last years team would have a good shot but those generational teams don’t come through that often.

There’s a school at the VERY bottom of that 3A thingy that might be able to compete just a little bit…
Maybe.,,

Exactly. It will take a once a decade type of team from MA to have a legitimate shot at knocking Shelby off. The 3A east is stacked at the top too with Northeastern and Wallace Rose Hill.

Eastern Randolph is definitely set up to be successful from the jump in the 3A west, but they'll have the same Shelby problem to contend with that MA and Heritage does.

Ask Reidsville friends..

By the way, has anyone ever actually seen a golden lion?
That like a made up thing from that Narnia book or something?
And through a straw? 😂😂😂
That’s barely a step up from “I’m rubber and you’re glue” 😂😂😂😂

I remember giving you permission when you first started to post... You quickly became *one of us*

Im just waiting on the ZZZquil to kick in.....

Trust me, yall dont want to see a Golden Lion down around the Covered bridge in yalls fine county.... We will own the football team and take that home with us too.... ha ha

MA will have 19 Seniors next year and around 12 returning starters. QB position will prob be the Hemric kid who I am told is quick can throw and run triple option good. Get #51 Hiatt back as he was out with knee injury and #77 Moncus filled in at center very good. # 4 returns which is biggest one along with #12 #21 #22 and #71. Look for #5 the Mason kid to get more carries also. JMO
