a weird game that lasted a long time...congrats to head coach Kelly Holder on his 200th win....Atkins with over 300 yards of "O" ...Bears just couldn't get off the field on D ...O well! QB Jackson Smith throws for 130 yds and 3 scores...Malik Frost w/ 3 scores, one a 89 yd KOR.Ian Holder w/2 scores.....D forces 3 turnovers (Grayson Corbin with 2 picks)...Robert Brown 7-7 on xtra pts and a 29 yd FG... host Walkertown next for NW title

Probably looking ahead a bit...you can't help but do it in a situation like this. Then you get up 24-0 before everyone's settled in and it's really hard to maintain focus.

I imagine we'll see the same Granite Bears that played Surry Central next week.

It's seems Atkins has stepped things up as of late. They struggled very early in the year on offense but once conference hit they have found it a little more. Have they changed offenses?

They were pistol and wing T when we went down there. We shut their run down besides times where the D got tired and they maybe got a fluke pass here and there but they only had luck on special teams that night. They had as many penalty yards as they had passing yards.

Coach Hamlin's doing a good job there despite the odds in front of him. Got a ways to go though but at least they won't fold like many figured given how rough 2015 was for them.

MA and Walkertown's gonna be a doozy next week.

Mount Airy got a little complacent on pass def and they made some great catches. Game was over before 1st qrtr half gone. Lots of subs in sec half

catching balls laying on their backs...pulling them out of the air (OBJ catches).took handoffs and ran to daylight.....never seen an 0-9 team play like that....

I agree they were real flukey when I seen them. Even though the stats don't show it they changed dramatically in 1 year. Still not very good but they got athletes and size there. Them vs. Prep could be interesting this week since it's a neighborhood rivalry and last game for both.

Compared to how badly you all beat them last year that's an improvement. I watched the film from that game last year easily one of the most pitiful games I've seen. This year MA's bench had to put effort in to produce anything. Last year it all came at will.
