Mountain Six Conference Preview

We need these gentlemen who came up with this preseason poll to take a drug test.
Until Franklin looses the conference consistently, they should be considered the top dog. IMO. When's the last time SM won the conference? When Streeter played?

SM's last title was '92--they won conference 3 of the first 5 years after Sylva-Webster and Cullowhee consolidated, but nothing for 27 years now. Guess they should be hungry.

Pisgah better be more physical up front or it will be just like last year, no run game.

I wouldn't say top dog, we've got five starters coming back from a 6-5 team. Any success Franklin has won't be built off of last year, it will be a new building project. There is good evidence that the coaching staff at Franklin can take young teams and turn them into winners, but the team needs to prove itself before you rate them high. The Mountain Six may not win any championships this year, but it could be pretty solid up and down.

However, 5th? I think they're sniffing airplane glue at the Citizen-Times.

I'm a homer, but this is my attempt at an objective list:
Pisgah
Smoky
Franklin
Brevard
Hendersonville
East Henderson

I was being a little sarcastic with the SM statement. I know it been a long while for them.
What's Hendersonville returning? I think they're the ones everyone is overlooking. They always have some speedsters.

Looks like the mustangs are the team to beat. Pisgah has solid shot at championship, depends on their run blocking. Those 2 are top dogs right now.
