The best QB in North Carolina that is a virtual unknown.

Completed 114 of 173 passes (65.9%) for 2,020 yds playing basically half of each game (running clock).

32 TDS and 3 INTs (Two ints were tipped)

QB rating of 138.0

Wilson is a big (6' 2", 200+ lbs) QB who can run but seldom needs to. He throws to speedy Austyn Chestnut and Jalen Foster and a bevy of tall and fast receivers and is protected by a big, mobile offensive line.

QB ratings of some other top NC QBs:

Williams (Clinton) 134.5
Surratt (Shelby) 130.3
Littlejohn (Lincolnton) 127.8
Ellenberger (Brevard) 122.5
Farley (Maiden) 115.5
Williford (Hendersonville) 108.6
Robinson (Mountain Heritage) 103.3

Just think how this fan base would act if they had won three straight state titles and were trying for 4. Lol

If Tanner was at a bigger school with a tougher schedule like the mid state 3A. D1 schools would be flooding the schools trying to get to him.

He`s the Best QB I`ve seen here and I`ve seen plenty...doesn't get the credit that he deserves.but I`m glad to have seen him for the past 2 seasons!

We have done that before also. We did not get the 4th. Got luck to you guys as you go for it.

Bigger school is not the problem here Stan, The D1 scouts has been flooding Cummings, Graham and heck even BY for the past 8yrs. Look at the players in our conference the past 7-8yrs that received D1 scholarships straight out of highschool and see how we compare!

Tanner is legit. Only a few know about him in the triad. I think he's underrated in this area too. He didn't have a big junior year I think that's the problem

You nailed it on the head! D1A & D1AA college recruiters have their "Big Board Recruits" on their list at the end of the junior season. We`ve had way too many juniors on the side line with the depth we`ve had at skilled positions waiting to play for a few plays. Winning 19 is great but it`s time to start putting what we have in school at the next level!

Anyone currently being looked at?

It's still time for players to get a good scholarship. Cook got Appalachian state last year.

WAs it straight out of HS or walk on? WE are sopposed to be the football capital of NC, but at the end of the year I see a problem here!

In a lot of cases, not just at RHS, grades are the main factor keeping kids from the next level.

I've asked this before and did not get an answer. Can you name any kid that was ready to play at the next level that did not get an opportunity. When I say ready, I mean size, speed, grades, SAT and character.

Grades are not an issue. We have several kids over a 4.0 in the IB program and too many to name in the 3.5 and up range

Tanner should`ve been on a few college`s big board list at the end of last season and it`s quite a few juniors that are not in rotation s they should be. We continue to do, what we`ve always done.

That still does not answer the question. Who has not gotten and opportunity to play at the next level that was ready? Tanner will get his shot. It may not be D1 but he will get a shot somewhere. I will say this, I cannot name one player that was ready that did not get a shot. It may not have been where they wanted to go but they got a shot.

Yeah you are right so what is it then ?

My son is on a full scholarship at WSSU and is starting weak side linebacker. At 5'11 218 he is the smallest linebacker that plays. With that being said great stats in high school don't qualify you to be a D1 athlete. (My son was very decorated when he left high school) It's a combination of size speed and height Along with decent stats. Stats just get scouts attention then comes the eye ball test. Reidsville kids don't pass the eye ball test. That's ok because there are a lot of great D2 and naia schools out there that gives scholarships.

If some of Reidsville's skill players were 3-4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier, Alabama would be recruiting.

I don't mean to take anything away from your QB because I saw him last year and he was good (would have had better numbers against us but the receivers had a lot of drops). But Mountain Heritage has a QB of their own that is a very good player as well. We played them in the next round after Reidsville last year and he is a handful.

We have a great team this year...good QB but overall talent is hell especially upfront and at the skill positions....these types of post are what causes teams to implode from within

Williams (Clinton) is a little misleading as he has only thrown like 45 passes. But his completion % is 71%. And he has 14TD's 2INT's so not bad but still misleaded QBR.

True that. He has also 10 INT's which is in a 4way tie for 2nd in the state. 11 is leading. So he is talented.
