Mount Airy and Refs

I have lived in Surry county all my life and last night was the first time I have ever seen the refs call a straight game atMount airy High.It’s always been impossible to go in there and play while the refs keep them in it , Coravian played an excellent game and if not the bad snap into the end zone , Mount Airy would have been shut out . I see a lot of talking trash about Coravian pulling players , but don’t be blinded cause Ma does it every year I promise . To me it’s embarrassing for our county to have some posters on here bragging like Mt Airy is always better , posting 5 pages of stats and all this nonsense. All of you folks really need to understand that the majority of Mount Airy really does think that way though , it’s just not a true representation of Surry county . Congrats to Coravian and good luck along the way .

The MA posters know Mount Airy has a tradition going back 100 plus years and your team and all the teams Mount Airy has played the last 100 plus years can only wish they were part of the top 3 winningest teams "Reidsville, Shelby & Mount Airy" in NC football. So we have a tradition to stand behind and you will hear our PRIDE year after year ! ! ! Learn to live with it..... 😂🐻 🏈 800 plus wins !

Not saying they will be bad, or horrible just looking at the reality of everything from every aspect. They should still be good. Also have to take in consideration how much better surrounding teams were this year compared to last few years

You do know Reidsville then Shelby them Mount Airy are top 3 in that order as all time winningest football programs in the History of NC Football? MA has over 800 wins and yes IK they been playing forever but that also means had that many more chances to lose also! Please explain your 8-3/7-3 theory? MA were a 2 point conversion away from a back to back in 2008/2009 losing to WRH in OT. SINCE 2008 have been to 5 Sate Titles winning 3 with 8 in there history. Had 2 of longest winning streaks in that era in the state. Hell of a history if you ask me.

Again, it’s not an insult. Outside of a 40 or so game win streak, they are a good but not great program. Saying they will revert back to good instead of great is not me spitting in their mothers face.

I know, but if your are doing and average, those years with on 7 or 8 games in the entire year lower the average. It's simple math. If you take the past 3 years out and just look at the past 20 years(so 17 years) which a decent sample size), they have averaged a 10.8 - 2.5 record. Some of that is bumped up do to playoff wins and losses. So it's probably line 9-2, if we are doing an honest look. Would have to have DaddyDoug's info to look at it more in depth as I only have maxpreps to look at. Either way you aren't wrong, they will be competitive, but they will not be dominant with maybe an exceptional year or something.

I agree. They have a concentrated population base to pull from that most of their immediate peers don't. Add in the folks from just outside city limits that choose for one reason or another to go there, then subtract all the non athletes that go to Millennium and they will always be a solid program for their enrollment classification.
