MEC Week 6

Hoggard- Topsail coach said their offense is as good as Hoggards. I think that's a stretch having played their scd but I do like the confidence. Topsail played Hoggard well last season losing 17-0. This Hoggard team is different and if their injured players are fine and play they win big.
NH- SB will have a great game plan but will not have the athletes to slow down the Wilcats. SB will look to control the ball and kill the clock and try to get some turnovers. NH has too much and wins big.
WB- This could be an interesting game. Ashley has shown it can play with a lot of teams for 1 half but then the defense wears down late. WB is 0-4 but they have lost to 3 good teams. I think WB pulls away late at home to get their first W of the season.
Laney- NB just can't get it together. Laney has looked good against weak teams and bad against good teams. NB isn't very good, Laney wins at home.

They can both play. I think they sit them but we will see. Topsail game is a lot like the PS game, they have a great record but they haven't played anyone so who know how good they really are.

Hoggard @ Topsail...Hoggard will be the clear favorite but if their WR and RB sit out, I'm saying they may regret it. Lavalle had 200 yds last year in Hoggards 35-20 win. No prediction
NH by 100?
Ashley by 2
Laney by 14

LOL, You homer. I don't blame you. Noah is a talent but this defense is different, nothing like last year.

Hoggard @ Topsail
Topsail has played Hoggard tough the last two years and will be a big underdog despite being undefeated. Lavalle did have 200 yards last year, but will probably be lucky to get half that Friday. Offense is starting come around for Hoggard and should continue to improve this week. Hoggard by three touchdowns

South Brunswick @ New Hanover

Port, kind of curious about this great game plan for the Cougars Friday night. Game planning has to be questioned since South has started 1-3 against an easy non conference schedule. Wildcats offense continues to score points, but the defense has struggled of late. It won't matter this week. New Hanover by 35 - 38 points

Ashley @ West Brunswick

Probably the best game of the week ... as far as competiveness. Ashley has some signs of life, while the Trojans have had a disappointing start so far. I like West because of their athletes and to win this one by at least 10 points

North Brunswick @ Laney
North Brunswick has gotten by with their athletes in the past to make up for their size. They are lacking both this year and off to a poor start. Laney's size will be enough as they will control the line of scrimmage on both sides and win this one easily.

Hoggard loses 27-23 in an upset.

OH ditch flopper, your always a little late to the party. You missed the whole switch a roo when I posted Hoggard 35-14 and after port liked the post I made a slight change to make it look like port was agreeing to the so called predicted upset. DO ...YOU...UNDERSTAND...NOW? But anyway the game was a lot closer than the score indicated....NO DITCH FLOPPER, DONT REPLY ITS A JOKE! That game I saw at Carolina Forest confirmed my opinion about the Vikes improved defense and Jones is the best QB in this conference. He will be a difference maker when playoff time rolls around.

hotter, all kidding aside ... you are right about this Hoggard team. Not a lot of weaknesses on both sides of the ball. 1st string defense continues to flex their muscles with another shut out and they haven't given up a point since week #2. Joshua Jones is finally putting it together and it's hard to argue that he isn't the best QB in the conference ... probably one of the better ones in eastern North Carolina. Lloyd Jarreau was out tonight and the Vikings will need him healthy come playoff time.

I went to Topsail for the first quarter and first series of third. Hoggard's QB and receivers looked really good. OL Did not make much space for the running game but they lit them up in the air. Topsail had no answers on O. Could not do anything.

NH averages 10 explosive plays a game. They score on 2 of them. SB knows if they can cut that in half

Hoggard also played without their starting TE who is a weapon on this offense.
