7-0 Again this week. I wish it wasn't so.
Hoggard has BIG problems and it isn't just the players. This team looks lost and the players and coaches can't figure it out. Hoggard was embarrassing against Clinton. Clinton was the better team but what happened on that field showed how bad things have gotten. Hoggard now is looking at a probable loss to NH and possible losses to WB and Laney.
NH is having problems scoring. They have played some really good teams but in the past NH was still able to score 3-4 offensive TD's. I would say they still, are the best team in the conference at this point with Laney and WB right behind them.
Laney is sitting at 3-2. They have beaten 3 teams that aren't strong up front defensively and have gotten beaten twice by teams that are strong up front defensively. I guess we will see which conf teams are strong up front def when they play Laney.
Ashley played its first tough opp and got hammered. I think AHS is still much improved and the gap has closed but I don't think they are ready to compete for the conf yet.

I thought the same "they looked lost" statement watching from the sidelines Friday night. Very un-Braswell like.

Yes. I am afraid those days are long gone. There is a distinct difference in many areas. I know the same coach is calling plays but there are a lot of times now where you scratch your head. The special teams is no where near where it use to be. Hoggard used to win games with their special teams and now they are losing them. The defense just isn't getting it. There is talent on the field but it isn't translating into good play. I can honestly say this team would be 4-1 at worse in the good old days.

I'm guessing the truth is somewhere in the middle. Clinton fans are saying that Clinton is that much better than Hoggard (Best team in years) and Hoggard people are saying there are issues which didn't exist in the past. I know the new coach is not Braswell, but I feel like Hoggard wouldn't have lost by 26 points if Braswell was on the sideline. It will be interesting to see what happens in two weeks when Hoggard and New Hanover play each other

You are right, Clinton was better than Hoggard. I feel Hoggard would probably be 4-1 under Braswell with that loss being against a good Clinton team. Clinton did not attempt 1 pass, not 1 and beat Hoggard 33-7. There is little chance Hoggard gets hammered like that with Braswell. Hoggard gave up a kick off return for a TD and missed an extra point against Pine Forest and lost by 2. Hoggard missed a chip shot FG and an extra point against Carolina Forest and lost by 1. Those were areas where Braswell teams were always better than the others and would beat you. And then there is the play calling.........
I am pulling for this staff and I hope they figure it out but it is plain to see that there are holes, and they aren't small.
